Just got my car installed with Alcades version 1 a month ago. I can feel the extra horse power immediately after a month and surprisingly there was no increase in my fuel consumption. Cool!!!

Highly recommend to anyone who wants the extra power to your car!!!

*Picture showing there is no modification done to my car.

Honestly i was puzzled about the installation of Alcades. Usually for any mod to a car will involve tons of tool to a car so when Nigel told me this mod do not involve even a screw i was in doubt. I am driving a Toyota Picnic though its a sturdy car but the FC is on the high side. Since my days of car mob is over and now my concern is only on FC i decided to give Alcades a shot n after installation i am totally blown away by the amazing effect. As Picnic is heavier usually the pickup is slow but after Alcades i feel like i am driving a lighter sedan car. The effect is almost immediate and after a short period of 1 tank i see my FC improve drastically. Do note after this installation i am not light footed anymore but i still see my FC inprove by at least 15%.
My advise is however much you are unable to believe the installation process this new technology Alcades really work!!!!
Thanks Huat Lee for this amazing products.

If you know who is "Sprinter" Is, then you must have been one of our closed bros here!
Many riders mob their rides for better fuel efficiency and some for torque improvement. Those adventures out there have been taking risks, even they understand that after the mobbing exercises, the warranty will be void and also in events of insurance claiming, nightmares are always ahead!
I am actually one of them in my old days! When I 1st visited this workshop, Nigel explained from head to tail what I was actually misled of good doing by those unnessary add on gadgets done on my ride. Not many workshops have those technical knowledge to explain!
I am convinced and only carried out all my servicings with them there after. Believe me, using the most suitable oils, proper parts replacement and preventive maintenance to your car are really cost saving!
Recently, I was chosen for "Alcades version 1" >"Ride and Enjoy" Participant. Yes, it is an "Add on" And I have no worries at all, no wire will be cut and unnessary mob will not be done. After 2 fuels top up, I then dare to review that it am light footed now! My ride is more responsive now. Warranty and insurance claim are always in placed.
I am driving Harrier Turbo, this is a heavy vehicle to push and kick off! I do not want to be aggressive, I just intend to have a safe and smooth journey always! Of course, I believe the application of " Arcades version 1" Should save me some money in near future!'

Suddenly there's no water coming out from my wiper nozzles when i want to clean my windscreen. So i browsed through sgcarmart motor directory and happened to see huat lee's advertisements so i've decided to give it a try.

Called and booked an appointment with them during my lunch break (haha...coz near to my workplace) and got it fixed in a few minutes.

My vehicle was being diagnosed by Nigel and team. Nigel personally gets hands-on in fixing the problem my vehicle encountered and not afraid to get dirty. very patient and friendly boss...explained to me the problems of my broken wiper spray while replacing it with genuine parts by Hyundai.

Thank you guys, my wiper nozzles are spraying as normal again!

Decided to stop servicing my 5 year old Suzuki SX4 at Champion motors after the warranty is over - always thought agent is more expensive and not as thorough. Researched a bit and finally decided to try out Huat Lee. As described by other users, their service is professional. The mechanics (Kenny and company) are very detailed and give good advice on which parts to change, but always quoting the price and explaining before going ahead. Changed front brake pads, one rear right wheel bearing and topped up air con compressor oil. Haha, I think the boss Nigel must be very strict about explaining to customers properly so the mechanics are very on the ball. Should have started my servicing at Huat Lee earlier!

Uneventful day  Posted on 12-Mar-2013

Just to share my uneventful day. Went down to HL for servicing. The mechanic later told me that the oil filter which I did my servicing from my previous workshop was not the correct part. He could not removed it and it was stuck. the only way is to replace theoil sump cover. I then asked what if he can forcedly removed it. I was told that since it was an incorrect part, the thread on the oil sump cover will also be damaged. Leaving with no alternatives, I acceded to his explanation as I really need to get my car serviced as need to leave the same night to KL. (Note: Since I am working nearby the area and not wasting time, i decided to visit HL rather than going back to my previous workshop).

Feeiling uncomfortable, I contacted my previous workshop. The mechanic and the boss was puzzled after I explained to them. They noted that the workshop had been servicing the same car model as mine with over 200 cars without any complaint of supplying the wrong oil filter part. The boss tried to get the definite answer from the HL mechanic but the latter refused to confirm it. The boss was also willing to visit HL for confirmation with the oil filter supplier but the mechanic was tight lipped.

Later, the boss spoke to HL boss who said that it was a misunderstanding and I had INSISTED to change. What is he trying to say??? No one in a good state of mind would spend extra $$$$ to replace a non-damage part. Why can't they just admit that it was their own mistake and pushing the whole issue to the affected consumer like me.

After they fixed the old oil sump cover back and oil replaced (which I had to pay), I quickly went back to my previous workshop. Within minute, the mechanic removed the 'said wrong oil filter'. No damage to the oil sump and the thread. If not because of their good technical expertise, I would have wasted my $$$$ to pay for the non damage part. Adding on, my previous workhop did another round of oil servicing without charging me a single cent.
Really appreciated their kind gesture and honesty.

Much thanks to HL for my uneventful day and wasting of my precious day.
Management Response by Huat Lee Auto & Tyre Service Pte Ltd
25-Apr-2013

Dear Eza,

We refer to your recent review post dated 12th March 2013 and apologise if you deemed your experience at our workshop as an ‘uneventful day’. Our response to the relevant paragraphs of your post is as follows:-
We would first and foremost like to assure you that all our mechanics are professionals and have many years of experience working on motor vehicles. We take a serious view of all negative feedbacks received by our customers and will respond promptly so as to clarify such feedback.
In reply to paragraph 1 of your post, based on our internal investigation from your feedback, we would like to bring to your kind attention that upon your arrival to our workshop and instruction to do a basic service of your vehicle, our mechanic assigned to your vehicle attempted to remove your vehicle’s oil filter which appeared to be stuck when he tried to unscrew it manually with the clamp tool. He attempted to do this several times in hopes that it will unscrew but to no success. He then used our air pressure gun with the clamp attachment to unscrew it but also without success. He informed our head mechanic, Mr Nigel Chan, to take a look at the fault and access it. Mr Chan inspected the oil filter and attempted to unscrew it himself with the proper technics (i.e. via manual and compressed air-pressure gun) but to no success either. Based on 2 of our experienced and professional mechanics assessment of the fault, it appeared that your oil filter was stuck. This fault was informed to you by our Mr Chan after which you requested that we forcefully remove it. We cautiously declined that request as if we were to have acceded to your request and forcefully removed it; and in the process damaged the grove of the oil slump any further as we already suspected it was damaged, we would have to bear responsibility for the damage or subject ourselves to be accused of causing the damage. In light of such, we try our best to avoid such situations and advise our customers of the safest and best alternatives. In your case, our reasonable assessment of the fault appeared that your groves may have been damaged whilst the aftermarket oil filter which was fitted to your vehicle was screwed too tightly or forcefully screwed in the oil filter grove housing. Therefore, based on our expert assessment of the fault, we advised you of the safest alternative and firmly and confidently stand by our advice provided to you.
In reply to paragraph 2 of your post, upon your arrival at our workshop, we inquired with you as to why you did not want to return to your normal workshop to handle the servicing of your workshop. We only enquired this as it is generally a practice for most motorists, unless new motorists, to allow their frequent and personally trusted workshop(s) to handle all matters of their vehicle unless particular services was not available at their workshop or in the event of emergency. You explained to us that you were unhappy with your usual workshop after the oil filter incident and did not intent to return back to resolve the issue; and hence required the services of our workshop to service your vehicle. The other reason as to why we enquired what we did with you is because the last time we serviced your vehicle was at or about 139600km on 10/6/11. The most recent time you came back to us again, your vehicle was over 209,307km on 11/3/13. As such, we were unfamiliar on what was done to your vehicle and we also noticed you were using an aftermarket oil filter. At our workshop, we only use original and genuine products on vehicles unless otherwise insisted by the customer.
We would further like to clarify that when the boss of your previous workshop called us, we informed him of the fault and he begun to be rude towards us and accuse us of not knowing how to do our job well. We attempted to clarify with him the problem but he simply continued to accuse us and we politely informed him we were busy and would take instructions from you on what you intended to do about the fault. At no time did our mechanic ‘refused to confirm it (the fault)’ and/or was ‘tight lipped’ about explaining the fault to your original workshop boss. We hope you understand that this accusation told to you by your original workshop boss is merely a one-sided story and completely false. It was probably told to you to regain your confidence in them and discredit us. However, we will not take such accusations personally as our paramount priority is our Workmanship Quality and Customers Satisfaction. We will duly compensate those whom may have had bad experience in our workshop in the event the fault lies with us or in exceptional cases through our goodwill.
In reply to paragraph 3 of your post, we repeat our aforesaid paragraph and deny that we communicated it was a ‘misunderstanding’. We would however like to clarify that we did advice you of the fault and the best solution to remedy fault (i.e. consider replacing the oil sump cover as the oil filter adaptor groves is likely to be damaged and even if we were to forcefully unscrew the oil filter and fit a new one in-place of that, the engine oil is likely to leak through the oil filter ‘O’ ring as it cannot be tighten properly and you would experience an oil leak). You then instructed us to order a new oil sump cover in accordance to our advice and that was what we informed your original workshop’s boss when he inquired as to why we were changing the oil sump cover. As mentioned above, what was communicated to you by your original workshop’s boss is merely a one-sided story to earn your confidence in them again, given that you mentioned you were not happy and/or satisfied with them when you visited our workshop.
In reply to paragraph 4 of your post, we verily believe that your oil filter was forcefully removed from the housing through unconventional methods. It is however surprising that there is absolutely no damage to the oil sump and tread, as indicated by you in your post, given that your vehicle has travelled more than 200,000km and has probably been serviced over 20 times. In our decades of experience, we have seen many vehicles around the same mileage as yours with slight or minor damage to the groves as this is generally caused by the unscrewing and tightening of the oil filter with different mechanics applying different amounts of force. Nevertheless, we are happy for you that you managed to save some money and did not have to replace the oil slump cover. However, once again we assure you that our assessment of your vehicle and advice to you based on the fault was done in your best interests and to safeguard us from being blamed for any damage. We further seek your kind understanding of the fact that since we are not and/or have not been your usual workshop for some time now (i.e. 139,600km – 209,307km), we did not want to simply forcefully unscrew the oil filter which was fitted on and/or forcefully screwed into the oil slump by another workshop. As mentioned above, any damage sustained to your vehicle by our act of acceding to your initial request of forcefully unscrewing the oil filter would subject us to be blamed for the fault and we would then have to face the issue of liability of rectifying the fault and/or replacing the part at our own expense. As such, we tend to avoid situations such as this.
With regards to our charges of the change of oil, we would like to highlight that you had initially instructed us to order a new oil sump cover to replace with old with. In order for us to remove the existing oil sump cover, we had to drain out the existing engine oil. Thereafter we removed the oil sump cover, you informed us that you would like the order for the new oil sump cover cancelled and for us to fit back the existing oil sump cover. We attempted to cancel the order but the part had already arrived and as such our cancellation of the order could not be done. Nevertheless, we did not insist on subjecting you to the order due to your sudden change of mind nor did we charge you our labour costs for removing and fitting the existing part. This is solely because we wanted you to save costs given that if it was your original workshop that may have caused the fault (if any), it is only right that they remedy the fault for your free of charges. Although we incurred expense for ordering the oil sump cover for you, we are nonetheless satisfied that your car appears fine to you.
We seek your kind understanding of our aforesaid response. Do have a great day ahead.

Rubbish diagnose for both my wife's and my car  Posted on 31-Oct-2012

Being newbie and not wanting to be carrot by authorised agent, was lure to this ws by the good comments.. i seriously find the mechanics not up to standard. We pay to get things done right?!

First incident, my wife car driver side door is properly close but it still show door "open". I asked them to fix it after the normal servicing they told me bla bla, it is due to some electrical short..will cost alot if you want to fix.. end up we went authorised agent and found the rubber on the door sensor is missing...

Second, despite the first incident i decided to give them 1 more chance based on many good reviews. I changed quite abit of things but the most important thing im interested is actually my ac making alot of noise. Mechanic say is bearing problem, ok fine changed it. sound still there but softer, i thought was ok.

1 week later, noise come back. Went back, same mechanic say the previous batch of bearing no good. Changed again FOC. Sound never actually went away.

2 weeks later noise come back. Ask me go back and change again..ok, i went back. Other mechanic quote boss saying: we try to help customer save money that's why only recommend change cheaper part but create more problem for themselves. If this time change must change whole assembly, how much more? top up $40. OK change.

Guess what, the noise is still there after WHOLE assemby changed. Then comes another 2 mechanics. Verdict: say my compressor bearing no good liao, if want to change can change whole compressor but we don't want you to spend unneccessary money..so bear with the noise. Well said! so thoughful and never refund me despite their incompetence

After so many weeks of reading from website on this similar problem , i decided to try my luck on another ws. Just drive into a ws full of branded cars, trying my luck. Solve it within 1 hour, diagnose plus replaced parts. Only a mere fan belt replacement solve the problem. 60 bucks does the wonder, compare to 600 bucks? brand new compressor?? haiz

Maybe we are just unlucky with them. Read throught my post, digest and think about it.

Was in a rush so Kenny a friendly guy in tattoos said he would call me after checking the car thoroughly. Recommended a few things to be done. Overall service was friendly and professional. He explained to me in detail the things that were done when I arrived to collect my car. One thing though: how come no immediate car wash after servicing?

Just went down to Huat lee today to do servicing on my 50000km Lancer CS3. Attended by 3 mechanics to service my car by the name of Mat. After a thorough check, he advised that the rotor is not in good conditions and brake pad has worn out. So i decided to change both of them and both sides, secondly he told me that the sparkplugs imm using since my last 10000km was due to a wrong sizeand its high fuel consumption. I was shocked that my previous workshop use spark plug of the wrong size ! OMG! Overall im deeply satisfied with the overall service and would recommend my frens, car owners to come to HuatLee.! Good customer Service and detailed explaination makes my day and safer ride! GOOD JOB!

Been a long customer of Huat Lee, service my 1st car since 2007 at their eunos workshop. Now my 2nd car still servicing with them. Prices have gone up steadily from less than $100 to more than $100. But their services & skills have never gone down, look ard everything has increase prices why not them? They have to eat earn too I'm always looking ard other workshops for a cheaper quote for servicing, even though there r other workshops out there that r cheaper & even went to 1 introduce by my friend. End up paying more becuz dishonest, change the part first then inform u. In e end next servicing went back to Huat Lee. Huat Lee prices r not very cheap & not very expensive. But i always believe they will quote u e price first b4 installing. Owning a car in SG is expensive & if one really want cheap please go JB with all parts purchase from stockist & with a heavy heart. Why cause if anything happen got to go back to JB. This time Huat Lee began promotion on Groupon, so bought a $68 servicing package as its much cheaper but different oil. So what was left out of e normal package deal was tyre rotation (I added this one in for $20) if you enquire outside its about that price & cleaning of rear drum brake. What was included was car wash, N2 gas for the tyres & what matter most was a relieve heart that it was a workshop that i trusted & friendly boss plus staff! Everyone has their own views and mine is I would go for a good, reliable and trusted workshop!

Firstly, no rotation of tyres and balancing. Say i got a very good deal already. Secondly, charged me $145 for brake pad with installation, which cost 85 originally; if I were to buy from the parts supplier. I did not check the price at that time, because the reviews on sgcarmart said it was a fair workshop, and this is the first time i am servicing the car since i just got it recently. Thirdly, charged me air con filter at 30 (quoted 35, and i negotiated), it cost them $18 at the parts supplier. For completeness sake, refill of aircon oil is $48. I mean, if you do not want to do discounted servicing, then don't offer for people to buy. A good deal is to actually offer customer something that is classified as a" good deal"! I am never going back anymore and all my friends will hear bout this.

Went there for service and second opinion. Fair and conclusive without additional work except engine oil change and a thorough check (comprehensive check list) ..which include wheel rotation etc. My guess is some workshop will have otherwise suggest some further work to increase income..Highly recommended. Ps. 6 year old mazda, 3rd owner, 2nd service.
