I called Jin to highlight that the bumper was not aligned properly. He said to bring the car back anytime for them to rectify.
He claimed it was a "New" Mechanic that dismantled the bumper. Bearing in mind that at no point, was he even apologetic, had an attitude and it was always somebody's actions that caused it.
On 19/1/2024, the attempt to rectify my bumper alignment was made even more disappointing, as the bumper mounting was cracked/damaged and still not aligned. These were not noticed initially as they were plastered with tape that I was advised to remove 2 days later. I had texted and called Jin but there was no reply. I texted Jin my displeasure but was ghosted.
I was very disappointed that I texted boss DX my horrible encounter. Following was my remark to him:
"All I can say is that my bumper was aligned when I brought the vehicle in. I would understand if it was removed for the repair. I would understand if effort to reinstate was done properly. I cannot accept the return of car in a different state as far as the bumper alignment is concerned. I also cannot accept when I am ghosted and not get any reply to resolve this less than pleasant experience. I also cannot accept that one can text me to ask for a good review, even after not carrying out a basic duty as a front liner of 1service."
DX was excellent in service recovery, and I was quite impressed that he was so committed and told me that only one day was needed to rectify my issue. On top to that, in order to minimise the inconvenience caused, a courtesy car will be provided. That is excellent service recovery, I must say.
So I arranged with Jin and brought my car in on 1/2/2024 morning when the workshop opened in order to allow them to have a full day to rectify. Was advised that I will be updated when to collect my car. No mention about a courtesy car, and not to mention the non-apologetic stance and the non-ownership of the whole matter attitude. I did not mention to him about the courtesy car as I had planned to head into JB in a friend's car and expected to collect my car in the evening.
I never heard from Jin until I had to chase him at 5pm, only to be told it will not be ready to collect that same day. Reason being that there is insufficient workers resources to handle my rectification. Again, it is always somebody else's fault and flabbergasted as to why this was not even checked in the first place and no priority given at all.
In the end, I only got my car back on Saturday 3/2/2024. That was 3 days that I did not have the use of my car and caused me tremendous inconveniences. All these could have been avoided if one had bothered to checked on their resources and arranged for a later date when resources are available.
Best part was, the end result of the bumper rectification was not even done, just hastily puttied, sprayed, and double-sided taped. I am not kidding you. These took 3 days for a horrendous result! I am now left with a hazy, blurred and misaligned bumper. The bumper popped out of position 3-4 days after the "Proper rectification", due to the inferior job that was done.
It seems that this experience of mine is exaggerated. But this IS the ordeal that I went through. Despite all these, I was told that my standards may be too high. I think otherwise as there are no standards to begin with at all.
Definitely gave me a lasting impression and I would NEVER patronise them if they were the last car repair shop around.
In any case if one is looking for a car workshop, be aware. What I went through was not only Jia Lat. It was JIN JIA LAT!!!
