Unreliable car but good looks and easy on fuel `

Car broke down twice. 1 at about 60k, rotating belt broke, under warranty
But Peugeot claims to take few days to repair. And I managed to repair it quickly outside about 4 hours
2nd broke down cost me 4K after discount. I just finish my 100k mileage. Hence
Warranty expired. What make me most upset is the car already felt having issue before warranty expired but agent did not settle it for me completely. And once I pass my warranty before next scheduled servicing, vehicle broke down.
I completed 100k in 2 years time hence 5 years warranty seems useless. Hopefully if can increase to 3-5 years unlimited mileage warranty. This will gives owners much better confidence and agent can do better with their service.

Peugeot 5008 ... Proud Owner `
|
|
My first time to own a Peugeot 5008 diesel car. Had clocked over 2000 km that include the NS highway drive to KL over the past 3 weeks. Average consumption is above 15 km/litre at this point.
Would rate the interior features and dashboard layout well above many of the MPV in the market. The middle row is spacious for 3 adults. The driver and front seat were comfortable on long ride too.The panoramic roof view is just awesome.
The interior noise level both stationary and driving were surprising quiet and low. The audio sound playing from my Spotify music over Bluetooth and radio station listening were of great sound quality too (good bass, treble and vocal).
Where I am concerned the exterior exudes confidence and serenity. There goes a saying Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
The engine performance is superb for the given capacity @1.6 turbocharged . The low clattering sound from the running diesel at low gear is audible but once it hit higher speed, the engine run pretty smoothly. The handling and ride on the NS highway were comfortable and soothing. It was on full load ie family of 5, maid and luggages. The car feels firm and solid probably a trademark of most continental car I think.
Overall highly satisfied with the purchase so far. Waiting to see how it holds in reliability in the long run. Cheers.

Sorry... Terrible test drive experience `

The gearbox on this car is a joke. Enough said.
Fantastic looks, but a classic case of Design Beats Function. A car that costs more than 100k should feel good to drive, but the 5008 disappointed me on hat front.

I got a new 5008 1.6L Diesel end December, so here's some personal opinions. My previous car was a MB C180 (I am comparing some stuff to the previous car).
