Value for Money; Korean Warrior | Posted on 29 Nov 2010 |

Review
This Korean Warrior has indeed invaded the Singapore island and well liked by many for its money-worth as well as for its soldier-like looks and performance. The Forte has been well-liked by many from its presence on the roads. At that price, its definitely a good buy. Features that the car has equipped with has put many of its Japanese soldiers at a lighter light. The forte has indeed proved to all that Korea cars can really make it.
What I like
Its impressive and attractive design, at a lower price tag.
What I do not like
The design of the steering wheel can be improved.

It has been a big hits since it's first launch and it's very value the money for the design, quality and not to forget the 5 years unlimited mileage warranty which not all authorised agent is giving.
It will also worth to wait for the new facelift model which might come in with GDi engine and 6 speed auto gearbox.
What I like
the design, spec and value i had to pay compared to other Asean make car.
What I do not like
still a bit pricely but still worth every penny.

Featuring the 5 speed auto transmissions with steering mounted paddler shifters, it adds in more fun. It's sunroof feature let me experience the morning sun and gives me a fresh day. It's stlyish regardless internal or external and its fuel efficient. I can say that it is meticulously design targetting the savvy new customers market. Thumbs up and full marks for this jazz!
What I like
What I like
It gives me a "WoW" impression and 101% thumb up when i sits in.
The whole driving experience is a joy. Its comfortable, reliable and supportive seats gave us a good driving position especially when Driver's seat can be cranked up and down. The cream of this lovely jazz will be it's innovative space saving boot! The user friendliness of folding the rear seats makes an excellent convenience! The adjustable steering, sporty meters and all controls are effortless to use. No questions asked about all its external and interior materials at all....
What I do not like
What I do not like
Everything seems so perfect even the name of the car. The only thing is very difficult to get its body kit as i have been looking high and low for it and up to today i still i find it...

Once again we are chasing away 2010 and ushering the 2011 right after the X'Mas season ya.
If selecting mid-sized car, I will choose KIA- CERATO FORTE.
Value for Money is the most basic in today. Automobile buyer will 1st consider despite hefty C.O.E pushes the Car price to Sky high.
Do read on....
What I like
WEll, Easy on outside with Great Styling, Handling is on good, Features that include never before is the Traction control provide additional negotiation when come to cornering.
Power can be seen on the paper is 124 BHP considered pretty good horse in 1.6L segment.
What I do not like
Still the typical 4 speed Auto gear box, Comfort level is so-so when I ride on the test car, still value for money despite the C.O.E still on the rise.

The Forte is a relatively new model that look decent, priced correctly in the segment and comes with lots of features in the car.
The 1.6l pick up is slightly sluggish though the gear system comes with tiptronic which allows manual over-ride of the auto gear.
The auto-gear is based on the CVT system which loses a lot of power and torque. Handling is decent with a nice 18" sport rims thou aggressively cornering see see some body roll, the turn radius for the car is very wide.
Fuel Consumption is on the high side.
What I like
- 18" Sport Rims
- Look decent for the prize
- Value for money
What I do not like
- Sluggish Pickup
- Wide Turning Radius

Where in the world can u get a reliable and value for money 1.6 litre car on offer in the market.
In terms of size & power, the other 2 contender, Vios & Mazda 2 are just way behind.
Forte is a winner!
What I like
All department:-
Price, power, size (body, length, wheel base, luggage boots)
What I do not like
No led day-time running front light & led brake light.
Also 6 speed auto gear box (as in the all new hyundai Avante).

Have been driving my Cerato Forte 1.6SX for almost 8 months. Personally, I like this car for its value for money. For the SX model, it comes with some 'premium' accessories that you can only find in luxury car (e.g. the auto-dim rear view mirror).
It's also pretty decent for the fuel consumption. For 70% highway and 30% urban, I can get between 12.5km/l to 13km/l. I would say this car is more suited for highway driving as the fuel consumption can be as low as 17km/l (this is what I clocked after I reset the trip meter and travelled 15km on a highway).
The only thing that I don't like is the atittude of their sales staffs. Perhaps it due to the high volume of sales that they think they can easily afford to lose a few customers.
What I like
'Premium' accessories, fuel efficiency
What I do not like
The sales staffs.
Cerato Forte further improved from 2009 models. | Posted on 29 Nov 2010 |

This is the car that lets me take a second look at korean cars. the 2009 models were spacial, practical, well-equipped and delivers good performance, but was ultimately let down by its steering.
Now though, it comes with hydraulic steering, which feels good during my test drive. Also, with a push-start button, the premium-feel factor is definitely increased.
And some 2010 models even come with GPS (promotion ending soon, it seems).
What I like
spacious cabin and boot with split fold-down
steering feel
well equipped - blueteeth, CD changer, steering wheel buttons, auto-dim rear-view mirror, auto headlights, GPS (for some fortes)
comfortable seats
attractive speedometer
gamma engine produces high performance (but can only be felt in manual models though)
17" rims in SX models provide good stability
What I do not like
C&C servicing packages bloody expensive. Worse, seems like Kia wants to introduce 7-year/150k km warranty in singapore (torque magazine, Nov 2010), which means you will be forced to service your Kia at C&C for 7 years. Good if you don't know that you can get cheaper servicing packages outside.

Been driving for almost a year and the car hasn't been giving me any problems. Some may still have the slight think that the made is Korea, but judging by the features, engine responses and of course the exterior of the car, so far not much 1.6L have come up to it's match! Apart from it's feature, Korean car market have also constantly developing their R&D from Mid Sized Sedan to it's Sports version! Definitely a worth puchase compared to Altis, Mazda 3 and Civic 1.6L
What I like
Auto Headlight
Signal lights on both side mirrors
Fog light for enhanced feature
17-inch wheel
Bluetooth built-in
Big Boot space
Sporty look with sporty exhaust
Traction control (Which most 1.6L make yet to incorporate)
Anti-Glaring rear view mirror (Which most 1.6L make yet to incorporate)
What I do not like
Gear box which is still a 5-Speed
Headlight still not HID-Factory fitted with projector function
Weight still a bit heavy on 1,326Kg

Kia had never been noticeable among the big brothers in the industry. However, in 2009, Kia showed everyone what they are capable of. The Cerato Forte created a bench mark in everyone's choice of a mid-size sedan.
The exterior styling is a breakthrough for Kia. The aerodynamics and the shape is definitely breaking away from their "traditional" outlook. I was deeply entranced by the headlamp that stares right into me when I first went to the showroom. There wasn't any round gloomy eyes that gives you a pathetic "buy me" look, the only greetings I get from the Forte was a "Growl!" The sharp shaping of the Forte let's you know that it has been reborn and it is back with a vengeance! Also, given the fact that aftermarket parts are readily available for the Forte, there are many possibilities for the Forte.
The interior of the Forte adds on to the wow factor. Despite the compact sporty outlook of the Forte, the interior brings you to a totally different dimension. The legroom and ceiling does not let you have a feeling of compactness. I can definitely say my passengers enjoyed the trips on my car, even on long touring journeys to our neighboring country. The boot space of the Forte further proves the theory of the "other dimension" I commented to my wife that the boot space is so enormous, but it did not compromise the rear passenger's leg room and comfort. I feel like I could stuff a sumo wrestler into my boot.
Overall, the Forte has surpass the expectations of many, but it did not end here. The only disappointment that I have, was the lack of torque for the car. Specifically, the low end torque. This car was given a large horsepower boost, but the engineers seems to have forgotten about the importance of torque. If they further improve the torque of the vehicle, I believe that the Cerato Forte will be on many people's "must buy" list. The price tag is definitely reasonable. If you were to ask me if I had regretted buying this car, my answer is a definite NO!
What I like
Compact sporty outlook, fierce looking headlamp, spacious interior and boot.
What I do not like
Lack of torque, engine layout, no automatic wind up of driver's window.

THis is my second car. I used to drive a Picanto, the very first model when it arrived in 2004. I thought I was getting a good point A to point B car for $43,000... yes it was the cheapest car at that time in Oct 2004, $1,000 less that the perdoura kelissa.
Then in Jan 2009, a couple of months before the official launch of the Cerato Forte, I booked the Cerato Forte SX1.6A at Leng Kee... so huge was my belief in this car based only on what I have read on the internet and at only $2,000 more than what I paid for my picanto there is no doubt that this is a best bang for buck ride. If you are like me who have upgraded from a smaller ride then everything about this car just want to make you keep on driving it.
The engine is smooth, exterior is stylish and it is feature-packed. I have added a spoiler to my ride so far otherwise I have no compelling reason not to keep this car stock as the SX version is loaded with just about everything.
What I like
The features, the styling (the front grille is totally cool) and the price (then of course).
What I do not like
My front windscreen did crack (once) similar to those reported cases affecting mainly the earlier batches. Anyway C&C has slapped a full warranty on it so no worries.

Certainly the best priced car in its class with the exception of sister car Hyundai Avante. Contrary to other reviews, the performance is reasonably above average compared to Toyota Altis and other Japanese makes. The heavy body made it a drag for a 1.6 litre engine. Considering the equipment in its interior and compact utilisation of the engine compartment, there is no qualm about the few shortcomings in terms of initial pick-up. The intelligent feature of the car will improve its response in accordance with the driving habit of the driver and in no time, I find it an excellent travel partner especially on NSE.
What I like
Excellent design and feel. Driverability is top of class. Reverse assistance is a boon for lady drivers.
What I do not like
Small opening for fuel intake and nothing else.
Review
Nice styling, interior is spacious and nicely styled. features are sufficient. Engine has sufficient power but can feel the sluggishly at gear 2/3 due to its out-dated 4speed gear box.
Engine noise is minimum but road noise is very obvious.
Down sized it's 17inch to 16 for a higher profile tires and it gave a more comfortable ride.
It is definitely a value for $$ car but probably not so in the high COE times.
But for the kind of price, not many complains!
What I like
-simple yet sufficient functions
-nice head unit with steering controls
-well equipped
-very nice design
-handles well and little body roll
-quiet engine
-FC is good
What I do not like
-road noise obvious
