This is the 7th vehicles, i have owned to date, and i would say this is the most comfortable car among the other 6 which includes Subaru Legacy GT, Tuscani, Lancer, Civic and old Corolla.
It may not be the most powerful among the lot but i like it the most. The styling, the features that comes with the car really makes operating the car a brisk, you do not even have to think when to turn on wiper, headlight, adjusting seats, adjusting mirrors, plug in keys. You just have to put your hand at the door, it will detect the presence of the smart key and once door open, the seats, mirrors and steering position are adjusted what you have paired with the key, impressive!
What I like
Quietness of the car, refinement of the engine, reliability of the car.
I visited workshop outside of borneo, all the mechanic will say GOOD CHOICE! this car is very reliable, then i will ask them what bout BMW? They will just shake their head.
Features that comes with the Luxury version vs Base model:
1) HID headlights with AFS and front headlight washers
2) Front parking sensors (on top of reverse sensors)
3) Rear electronic sunshade
4) Driver and front passenger memory seats
5) Electronic steering wheel for telescopic and rack adjustment (retracts when you shut off the car and vice versa).
6) Auto dimming rearview and side mirrors
7) Heated windshield (where the wipers rest - only useful for winter conditions though)
8 ) Woodtrim
9) ML sound system (I think they no longer have this for the 2010+ models?)
10) Illuminated front door sills
11) Auto tilt side mirror on reverse
12) Automated headlights
13) Automated winscreen wipers
What I do not like
The tuning of the car makes it sluggish to drive, the original suspension is abit floaty compared to the German makes, the Gear shift is slightly on the slow side since it's an Old school 6sp auto box.
The rear seats is abit cramp and roof abit low, standing at 6ft might have a problem sitting at the rear seats.
This car is more of a driver's car, if you want something huge and gives passengers maximum comfort, consider the Markx or a Camry which is similiar in class.
One of the best ride. | Posted on 23 Feb 2010 |

Overall a excellent car to drive. The V6 engine roars to life once you step on the gas. Overtaking is a breeze. Mark Levinson sound system is one of the best around.
Handling is without much excitement but still do the job very well. Can be better if F Sports coilover and springs are used.
US and Euro versions come with navi system. Too bad can't find it in Singapore.
What I like
1)Powerful V6 engine
2)Quietness
3)Sound system
4)Soft and comfy leather seats.
5)reliable
What I do not like
1)Cramped rear seats
2)Without Navi system

The power of the car is excellent, though the initial moving off at the traffic lights feels lethargic.
What I like
The Brakes are excellent, overtaking is a breeze.
What I do not like
Some exterior parts not aligned, and lexus service says it looks like that and can't do anything about it. Especially the sport skirting both left & right is not align with the car body.

With the IS, you get, for the same money, a better engine than the base 320 with more displacement and more cylinders. I am not saying the IS is better than a bmw 325 but to me it is more value for money than a 320.
Reliability is top notch and in 4.5 years the only problem was the air con vents got blocked by leaves which is not a technical fault. Servicing costs are not prohibitive .
Rear space is very poor so check this out if you are above average height .
The car is really quiet, smooth though there is some road noise on rough surfaces .
Some people denigrate Lexus as just a hyped up Jap car but before you plumo for a compact exec you should really try this car before deciding.
personally between my old bmw 2.2 and the Lexus I would choose the latter for the better engine and less costly ownership. If you are driving enthusiast who must have the best handling car and can afford a bmw 325 and above, then get the three series.
What I like
reliable ++
quiet
What I do not like
cramped rear
not much else really
