Comparing the 3 in it's class, I fell in love with the Astra Twintop at first sight! Even after taking a look at the 307CC and the Megane Cabriolet, I went back to buy the Astra Twintop. Because the 307CC was downright ugly and has pathetic engine performance even with a 2 litre engine. Megane was just too square and was just as ugly as the 307CC. The Twintop boasts timeless exterior styling and looks great with top up or down. Strong engine for a comfortable drive on our roads as well as up north. Feels very safe and gives the driver an assured feeling when driving.
What I like
Strong engine, secure roof and great handling both in dry or wet. Looks great and seats 4 adults very comfortably with ample leg room in the rear unlike the fake cabrios that claim they seat adults in the rear. Many extras like cruise control etc make this an excellent choice for a cabrio at a value hard to beat!
What I do not like
Not much really...if I wer to say slight rattle in the roof after long time of not using it...well, you get the same with the Volvo C70 and the BMW hardtop cabrios too...so I've got no complains.
A very enjoyable car to have. | Posted on 22 Nov 2009 |

We have had this car for 3 years and it's our second Opel cars.
The car feel very solid in build even when the roof is down. This has to do with its addded weight for all cabriolet. It is also surprisingly quiet with the roof over our head.
We can have 2 kids and maid seated at the rear. I will not say very comfortably but they have no complains. leg room is decent for a coupe/cabriolet.
1.8 Ecotec engine is decent for daily drive.
Steering is a little hard which we prefer.
Over the past 3 years, we have changed 1 battery and that's about it!
What I like
- Hard top cabriolet feels safer :)
- Very reliable
- First 2 gears roar when rev!
- Timeless looks (both interior and exterior)
- Good rear space.
- Able to close/open roof while car is moving.
- Surprsingly good Fuel Consumption.
- AE provides good support
What I do not like
- No keyless
- No HID
- Increase gear shifts will be nice.
- Few after market mod for Opel cars.
The most 'value for money' coupe cabrio in the market. | Posted on 18 Jan 2009 |

What I like
3 segment roof mechanism create more leg room for rear passenger.
The roof can be open or retract while traveling in low speed. This is extremely useful in weather like Singapore. (Eg. sudden changed to hot or drizzling weather while on the move).
Solid German build chasis.
What I do not like
1.8 ECOTEC feels underpowered.
No HID
Noisy cabin due to its many roof mechanism.
Review
I have driven this for about three years. No big problems at all. The AD service has been very good. FC is reasonable, about 9.5km/L. It's handsome when open/close. Unlike others, they just look out of shape!
Of course, there are still some rooms need to improve, It should be turbo/super-charged, need more gear like 6 to 7 instead of 4. These will bring up the overall performance and FC of this car.
What I like
Almost everything.
What I do not like
Lack of gear
No turbo/super-charge
