Review
So it's been just over 2 months now and I thought I'd do a follow up review.

The car is excellent. Just a very minor rattle at the passenger sun visor that needs to get seen to but I haven't had time. We'll do it this coming week.

Some design niggles that LR can improve on:
1. Horn is very hard to get at in the event of an emergency situation as it is only the two slender chrome inserts on the steering.
2. Third row seats - placement of latches means you have to crawl into the car to set or fold the seats.
3. Rear doors - corners are exposed so that the paint gets chipped very quickly. Also the corners means there is no way I can think of to protect them.
4. Wheel arch fenders - Get rubbed because they protrude so far out of such a wide bodied car.
5. Wheel arch fenders - I suggest LR provide black plastic fender covers that we can stick on for front and back.

Fuel consumption is 10.5L per 100km if you are easy on the pedal and keep your tires at optimum pressure.

Tires cost $500 each at LR. I already had to change 1 because I clipped a broken (sharp) kerb. The tires are armoured but not THAT armoured. The OE tires are plenty good and quiet.

Dealer accessories are EXPENSIVE. Negotiate an accessories discount when buying your car. And have enough money standing by for ALL the accessories you want. Don't even dream of adding any after buying the car. I'm adding the offroad driving lights and these cost $2000. If with the nudge bar is $4000! I did a short drive into Malaysia and found the standard headlamps do not provide enough light on the dark side roads.

Basic change oil, filter is close to $700 and must be done every 26000 km.

The drive is exceptionally smooth and one would be disinclined to speed. In fact I now just can't be bothered by those who are speeding around me. I got nothing I need to prove. I have the biggest, baddest car on the block.

Get used to the need to crawl into the back to get at stuff. When you have the seats flat this car becomes a truck. In fact that's what friend's kids call my disc, "Cool truck uncle Colin!" Is the comment.

Windshield - first thing to do after buying your car is to go to Autobacs and get the liquid clay to rub down your windshield then apply something like RainX or your wipers will keep chattering.

What I like
I just like this car. It's just too cool.

What I do not like
There is nothing that I dislike about this car at the moment.

Review
This is a car that will impress the most discerning, with it’s hushed and luxurious cabin, solid feel and impeccable ride quality. At the same time, this is a car that one will not hesitate to load the kids, gear and dog for a trip to the beach. From muddy forest trails, to a night at the opera, the Disco 4 will not only do both, but I dare say, will outshine the competition in both venues.

At city speeds, all you hear is the muted whir of its magnificent turbo-charged diesel 6. Hit the throttle hard from standstill and the initial thrust throws you off guard as you head whips back into the headrest. At highway speeds, the only sound to intrude will be the soft whooshing of the wind past the enormous side mirrors. Hit the throttle here and the Disco willingly obliges.

OK, it’s not all brilliant. Hit the brakes and the car will dive a little as it finally stops. This is a result of it’s two-and-a-half ton weight. Some items have been “deleted” from the “normal” HSE specifications such as: TV Receiver, Seat Temperature Control, Tire Pressure Sensors, Traffic Message Channel, Special Equipment Package and Trailer Towing Hitch. But let’s face it, you really wont miss any of these. The only standard equipment gripes I have are that the steering column adjustment is manual, and the anti-dazzle mirror function does not extend to the side mirrors.

The suspension of this car is simply amazing. It soaks up the bumps and fills the dips, giving a supremely smooth and well-damped ride. You really feel cossetted in this car, with its wide window sills and arm rests creating an incredible armchair feel in the front two seats.

The real feather in the Disco’s cap is that my wife finds it an easy car to park! It looks so big, but in actuality, it’s much shorter than the competition, and the big windows and mirrors provides lots of visual references and confidence when parking.

This is a car that does everything for me. I need a car that:
1. Has excellent presence for my business.
2. Can be loaded with all the gear that my business demands.
3. Can haul my family with 4 teenagers + dog around.
4. We can use to bring clients around.
5. Has four-wheel-drive and is comfortable for drives to our home in Malaysia’s mountains.

Best of all, I don’t feel reluctant to get down and dirty with this car.

What I like
- The sheer presence – people taking photos of the car, the head-turning effect. For the amounts we pay for cars in Singapore it feels good to get the attention.
- Supple ride with very little wallow.
- Supportive seats (ala Mercedes Benz).
- Adjustable arm rests, combined with the windowsills that make the front seats armchairs.
- Quiet ride – you just feel so special.
- Pulling power of 600nm is amazing. This car can really hustle in traffic.
- Seamless gear shifting – you really can’t feel the shifts.
- Powertrain is so well coordinated that it gives the drive total control, going round corners.
- Speed limit of 180 km/h so works for me.
- Clean diesel power.
- Practical design. Example - How the areas that need to be luxurious are clad in hand-stitched leather, but the load bay area is clad in practical plastic.

What I do not like
- Some sharp plastic corners that scratch you when folding / unfolding seats.
- For a world-travelling vehicle, a really pedestrian GPS system.
- The multi-media interface can be a bit fiddly at times….. Oh! And slow.
- Folding the 2nd row (for getting in and out of the 3rd row ) takes some getting used to.
- Length of the tailgate – sometimes you have to climb inside to get to items which are tucked up against the back of the 2nd row seats.
- Lack of 3rd row floor mats.
- Singapore’s COE system means keeping this car for twenty years or more becomes impractical, but this car is just so awesome I would love to keep it for years and years.

Review
Getting pretty close to Range Rover levels of comfort with the Discovery, even with the diesel engine. It's quiet enough, capable of cruising at respectable speeds and has plenty of room. Try not to think of the Discovery as an off-roader that's been civilised, because it really is so much more than that.The 3.0-litre V6 diesel features twin turbochargers, meaning although it's as weighty as America's debt burden, it shifts pretty darn convincingly given its size. A lovely interior. Closer to the Rangie than the Defender, everything in here feels chunky and well-sorted. It might not be quite as luxurious as the Range Rover, but there's a sense that Land Rover wants to be taken seriously. There have been issues with door seals and various bits'n'bobs on the earlier cars, but those reliability problems have been sorted. Land Rover really couldn't have made driving the Disco 4 simpler. In everyday use it's just a big, tall car admittedly, but nothing unusual about it. Key changes with 2010's refresh, along with the engine, included some tweaking of the suspension. It'll still go anywhere off-road, but it's more adept on it now. It rides decently, while the steering is not the nightmare that you might anticipate. Both rear seats fold away individually into the floor and are capable of carrying a proper full-size human. The boot's big with them folded (making it a five-seater) and even more so with everything flat-packed and the Disco doing a van impersonation. Stadium rear seating means the kids can see what's going on.

Saw e car at the show room with admire. Could not afford therefore did not test drive. The built of e car is damp solid

What I like
The design greatly has reflect how the NEXT century SUV should look like . Both men or ladies will fall in love on this car at the first look at it.

What I do not like
- The price.
- Do not have the option to switch between 2wd n 4wd.
- Should have a brother version of 7 seater.
