Test drove Mazda 8 on a weekend.
At stationary form, it is strikingly large at all angles.
Nice headlights and rear cluster lights.
Speed dials are nice and bright.
The drive was slow and comfortable.
Tried to outrun a taxi at the start of the traffic light junction but it took a lot of effort to get it into a momentum and it just took its time to accelerate. I wonder if Madza 8 can overtake vehicles on the north-south highway.
U-turn and parking were effortless.

What I like
Spacious interior.
Otoman seats.
Comfy rear seats with sufficient leg room.
Reasonable boot space with seat up.
Powered sliding doors.
Powered rear tailgate door.
Aircon ducts all round.

What I do not like
Turtle-like acceleration. Too bad the local dealer is not bringing in the turbo version.
No steering mounted controls.

I have just taken delivery of my car 2 weeks back. As this is my forth mazda car, I must say Mazda8 really and truely is astonishing. Mazda8 is a turn head beauty. The drive of the machine is excellent. Mazda has truely improve tremendously on its sound proofing tough.

What I like
Its everything that you and your family will like, especially the kids. Space is not an issue anymore. The ottoman seating provides elderly with a relaxing and comfortable long trip. The 3rd row seatings provide sufficient comfort too during drive up M'sia.

What I do not like
It's too good to be true.

Just got delivery of my Mazda8 and covered some distance in it. I think I am now justified to write a review.

The more I keep looking at the car, the more it grows on you. It does not look big, but the dimensions are bigger than most Japanese MPVs out there. This translates to excellent interior space.

The engine is quite and is quite willing to rev. This makes keeping the engine speed below 4,000 rpm quite a challenge during the first 1,000 km.

Handling wise, it's about the best, even better than the Odyssey ('05 model ya, don't know about the present batch). This is even though the car is shoded with Yokohama comfort tyres. However, the steering is a little too light for my liking.

Consumption remains to be seen, but am disappointed by the lack of multi-info display. I am so used to having it in all of my cars.

What I like
Space, drive and handling

What I do not like
Lack of multi-information display.

I test drove this car yesterday. The car's lovely exterior is neat and elegant while interior is very roomy. Double sliding door is perfect fo me as it is very convenient and dash board was less plasticky. Ride comfort is amazing and powerful rear air con can make a journey enjoy a long and thrilling journey.

What I like
Mostly all.

What I do not like
Price is on the high end
FC not its best trend

Review
When for a test drive with wifey today. Love the spacious interior, the safety features (power tailgate and door will stop closing if encounter resistance). 5-speed gear is smooth. Steering is more fluid compared to my Mazda 3 SP. Sensitive brakes, good stopping power. Didn't feel like driving an MPV, more like a sedan. 2nd row seats are really comfy and has lots of movement to allow access to 3rd row. Strong aircon for 2nd & 3rd row with controls at 2nd row for passengers to adjust to their comfort. Great boot space for an MPV with under storage (can still keep some stuff even with the spare wheel there). Great visibility all around from the elevated seating. Local fitted Kenwood ICE has integrated rear-cam for reversing, Bluetooth pairing to handphone for handsfree talking, Garmin GPS with lane-guidance, DVD playback and iPod/MP3 connectivity via cables in the glove compartment. I'm 1.8m tall and can get into the 3rd row without flipping down the 2nd row seats if you leave the middle open. Good headroom in 3rd row. Didn't feel cramped there.

What I like
Everything. Would swap it with my Mazda 3 SP now if money was no object (wife loves it as well). Already has all the additional stuff that you would usually want to add later (Xenon headlights, fog lamps, body kit). Maybe just throw in solar film, car mats, paint protection (maybe)

What I do not like
Price (but could be due to current COE situation)
No ICE controls on the steering wheel
