Review It was a boring and cloudy day and i decided to travel down to MotorWay Ssangyoong to test drive the new Actyon Sports (auto).
I would say that i did not regret spending the time there talking to the sales lady and test driving it.
Upon getting the keys for the test vehicle (very well taken care off), i sat in the drive seat and the view from the driver's seat was excellent. High rise view, buttons installed at convenient locations and the speedometer/tachometer was bright enough and eye-catching. Though i prefer white....hehe
Off we go for the test drive down Bukit Merah, the pick up speed of the truck was superb. I can feel the turbo kicking in after 2k rpm.....i presume that the century sprint will take 9 - 10s. very powerful indeed, however, do note that i am driving with a slim sales lady and empty load. Not sure on the speed when it is fully loaded. She told me that the top-speed is around 170km/hr....hmmmmm
Anyway, steering was light but hardy enough to feel the truck travelling. However, i would say that steering wheel is a bit too large and wide......Oh, i gota mention the quiet cabin when accelerating, except for the turbo sound when i press hard.....Coooll....I did not switch to Manual mode (triptronic) as i am not comfortable with that. Thus, i cant comment on. However, gear change is very smooth. Not much of a turbo lag.
Suspension was good, in general, not so bumpy as the L200. That was a major difference between most trucks and lorries. I presume that if i am using that as a goods vehicle....it would be extremely comfortable.
External looks are extremely enticing. Well chiseled, especially the A-pillars region. Solid feel to the body of the truck and, hey, it comes with a top canopy over the flat bed!! Nice....
Last but not least, the price of the vehicle goes from 118,000 - 124,888. It comes with a free 5 yrs maintenance and wear/tear issues. Loan is set a 2.28% and 7 yrs max. 10yrs loan is applicable if you agreed to a stunning 3.2%/p.a. Oh, if you loaded, you may want to consider paying 190,000 dollars for a S plated Actyon. Anyone?
Foo.....think i gota miss out on that for my company vehicle....not for now though. But it is a shame, that such a vehicle is price so high in PAPish Singapore....Shame...
What I like Great External Looks!!
Leather interiors and matching colours (Love the brown colour)
Excellent pick up speed!
Smooth ride with smooth gear change and minimal turbo lag
Quiet Cabin even though moving on rough grounds
Love the Turbo sound....weee, weee, weee...
Driver-designed consoles and dashboard
Friendly sales lady and the view of a couple of Rolls Royce Phantom makes my day! (Motorway does sell RR and lots of exotic vehicles too!!!)
What I do not like Horrendous pricing (Sigh....COE) Even worse when converting to S plate.
Taller passengers may find the rear lacking in legroom....that sucks..
Aircon seems not to be able to cool the cabin fast enough
Middle storage compartment cover a bit hard to open..due to design
