Good compact car  Posted on 26 Oct 2022

Review
First car and it's hatch because of Honda fit magic seats and the knock down seats.. It is a good small compact car.

Pros:
Cheap back then.
Found it's better to me than bezza or note
Low maintenance cost and reliable

Cons:
-Not powerful
-Front passenger legroom is not that good for tall passengers
-Small boot

Just downgraded from Freed Hybrid to Fit petrol 2019 model. Lucky to get my new car bf CB started in April. Exterior looks small, but interior was quite spacious & comfortable. Spec indicate 24km/l, but actual driving in city abt 14km/l, highway driving abt 17km/l. Pickup not as good as my previous mpv but overall engine performance was still reasonable good. Highly recommend to buy if u wish to downgrade fr MPV to a small & reliable yet economic car.

What I like
Price was right & reasonable.
Lower installment help ease our finance.
Spacious interior & comfortable. Enough headroom & legroom. Definitely bigger booth space as compared to Freed.
Magix seat that can do magic fold function v useful for bulky item delivery.
Stylish exterior.
Keyless entry.

What I do not like
Start stop function may b a gd fuel saving method, but can b quite annoying esp at traffic light. Luckily it can be deactivated by a touch of a button, hence still ok.
Base on the best economic price, no much dislike.

Was considering Fit from PI or Jazz 1.3 from KM. In the end decided to go for FIT because of keyless entry/engine stop-start, digital aircon, and cheaper by a few ks.

On hindsight, i would have bought Hyundai Avante for a smoother and quieter ride (albeit higher FC, poorer handling, higher road tax)

What I like
Excellent FC: 16km/L
Superb handling among cars of the same price class
Extraodinary amt of interior space for a small hatchback
Affordable price

What I do not like
Poor sound insulation from wind and road noise
Irritating aircon compressor that keeps cycling on and off, apparently this is common among all new Honda cars. The noise and vibration made by the cutting in and out is super annoying.
Poor build quality (gear stick loose, loose roofliner causing zzzz sound when at high speed)

I have rented the previous versions of Fit/Jazz for countless times. I have also also owned Vios and CX-3 in the past. Was shopping for a car to replace my CX-3 due to growing family, and i needed to put in a baby car seat (rear space too cramped in CX-3). Came across the Fit when sending my car for servicing.

Driving one now close to 4 months and loving it. Just need to remind myself not to be a heavy footer as CVT gearbox is slow to react. Managed average FC of 20-22km/l, which is higher than the advertised FC of 19.6km/l.

What I like
1) Unexpected roomy interior space for a small hatchback
2) Simple dashboard layout
3) Huge Boot space
4) Huge potential for aftermarket add-ons due to availability of mods
5) Good pricing

What I do not like
1) Only comes in 1.3 Petrol Version
2) Does not come with bodykit standard
3) CVT GEARBOX IS A LET-DOWN
4) Does not come in stick shift.

I drove a 2008 1st Generation Jazz, prior to that a Skoda Roomster and a Honda Civic (ES05), when I first drove the Jazz I was amazed at the interior space and the engine response.... The 3rd Gen amazes me more, I do not feel like I am in a compact car ( I am a rather fat guy). The car suits my needs, carry my family around and frugal when do my work.

What I like
- key-less entry (so convenient until I sometimes forget to lock the car)
- the space (feels bigger then my Gen 1)
- the boot space
- sound proofing is much better then the gen 1
- Frugal (if my foot is light)
- feels more rigid

What I do not like
- Honda auto idle (switches off you engine when you come to stop and starts when you release your brakes, cannot permanently off it)
- Lost some of the sportiness compared to the Gen 1 (gen 1 feels faster off the traffic lights)

Rented a Honda Fit 1.3 with CVT during a holiday trip, the car seems decently spec with auto start/stop and climate control digital air-con.
Interior space packaging is surprisingly good, no problems with 3 adults & luggage. Fuel economy is very good, averaging 16.9km/litre with 30% City and 70%
The only let down is the performance of this car, beyond the city, 97bhp is a constant struggle in overtaking vehicles. If you're looking for speed, look elsewhere or at least get the Fit RS 1.5, otherwise the 1.3 is good enough for a fuel economical daily transport.

What I like
- Outstanding fuel economy
- Clever packaging for the interior
- Easy to handle for urban/city driving
- Cheap to run

What I do not like
- Lacking in performance for the 1.3 CVT model
- Loud and soulless engine note at high rpm
- Unstable in highway speeds above 100km/h

Car broke down, so given a new Honda Fit 2015 to drive for 2 days. This car is surprisingly spacious in the inside, and frugal on fuel. No doubt it's still noisy on expressway speeds, but nevertheless still comfortable.

What I like
Start Stop System
Spacious Interior
Excellent Fuel Economy

What I do not like
Low Spec-ed PI vehicle
No digital aircon
No steering wheel controls
No moonroof
