Could Renault's latest diesel hatchback, the Megane GT-Line, be the next best thing to the now-iconic Megane RS hot hatch?

Review
The Renault line-up of recent years have been pretty impressive, notably the well-received Megane and Clio RS. I have always been a fan of hot hatches but due to the COE prices of today, owning one is a little on the dear side. If you're looking into the Continental market, a sporty hot hatch would well cost you over $150K.

My sights were then directed at the new Renault Megane GT-Line Diesel. Sloppy handling is one of my pet peeves and since the Megane GT-Line Diesel is built with what Renault calls a Sport Chassis, it was worth a look at.

The Megane GT-Line Diesel certainly did not disappoint in terms of handling. It offered a touch of sportiness without forsaking comfort. Thanks to it's great handling abilities, I was able to overlook the fact that out of the factory, it only makes 110bhp.

Handling however was not the only positive aspect of the car. The interior built quality is great, better than most cars you'd find with a heftier price tag. The seats provided fantastic support. The car also comes with an array of creature comforts such as a TomTom-based infotainment system with navigation and a premium sound system, cruise control and dual-zone climate control.

What I like
- Clean, simple & sporty outlooks
- Great handling
- Solid chassis
- Renault did not cut back on the accessories
- Comfortable interior
- Fun to drive

What I do not like
- Slight lack of power
