Collected ride 1 month ago and clocked 3000KM so far. Brought it to Genting last weekend to clear carbon and tested out its handling capabilities.
Changed out stock rims and tyres right after collection of vehicle therefore unable to comment on stock tyres (Hankook Noble S1).
Sound insulation is rather disappointing as I experienced wind noise penetrating through my A-pillar while driving 100km/h-ish. I had to install an additional layer of rubber door seal before my Genting trip. The stock rubber door seals are rather soft, brittle(heard of some cases of rubber cracking) and useless in keeping the wind out. Undercarriage soundproof is not fantastic too.
Engine power wise (mine's a 1.6NA) is still acceptable and sufficient for legal speed limit driving. If you are looking for neck-breaking speed and acceleration, look for the 1.5T or elsewhere
CVT gearbox has an existing bad issue whereby there are some lag in gear ratio selecting resulting in jerking and metal pinging sound during engine braking or pressing the gas after engine braking, usually happens around 73 or 96km/h. Kah motor has no solution to it so far.
Paddle shifters response time is acceptable.
Handling is very good, body roll is minimal.
Interior design is very modern but there are still empty switch spaces which are very unsightly.
Steering wheel buttons feel cheap.
Exterior design is definitely one of the biggest reason of choosing this car. The overall styling is very sleek, low, sporty yet spacious-looking.

What I like
NA engine (10k servicing interval)
Sporty look
Paddle Shifters
Handling
Keyless entry and push start
Apple carplay and Andriod auto compatible HU
Spacious cabin and rear legroom
Rear aircon vents
Huge boot space
Good brakes
Cruise control
Decent fuel consumption

What I do not like
Price (sightly pricey for a MIT model)
16 inch stock rim (very ugly in my opinion and heavy despite being 16inch)
Stock Hankook tyres
Poor sound insulation and lousy rubber door seals
CVT gearbox jerking
Too much chrome
Electronic brakes
Ugly clear side markers
Rikecool solar film given by AD (IR rejection seriously CMI)
Hidden exhaust tip
Paintwork is not fantastic

Test drive on the civic turbo, the pick up not bad even on cvt gb.
maybe because the turbo kick in at around 1600rpm. Not much turbo lag when you let go and press on the pedal again.

What I like
pick up of this car.
Lane watch.

What I do not like
price.

Having driven the 1.5T for sometime now, thought it would be apt to give a review on it.

What attracted me to this car in the first place was the exterior styling, though it would be more of the front than the back. The small sized spoiler at the back probably aided a small bit on the subjective looks of it. The icing on the cake would have to be the side marker lights, as it really adds a touch of premium feel to the car.

Getting into the driver's seat and finding the perfect driving position was an easy task thanks to the electrical operation. A pity that there is no memory seat function, but perhaps I am just nitpicking over here.

Moving off from rest, there is an initial lag where the revs climb but the speed increases quite slowly which I am not sure if it's due to the turbo lag or the CVT. After around 30-40km/h, the power comes in and overtaking manoeuvres are executed with ease. The engine sound is also audible when accelerating, and bear in mind that I am not a heavy foot driver. However, once up to cruising speed, the noise is subdued.

One thing that I am pleasantly surprised at is the fuel consumption of this engine. On average, I am getting 14.5 - 15km/l with about 70% Highway 30% City. Also, the engine speed can stay at around 1600rpm thereabouts when cruising at 90km/h.

Brake hold function works seamlessly but I have yet to get used to using it on a regular basis. Taking off my foot from the brake at the traffic lights/jams still feels weird to me. The brakes felt quite effective, but maybe it's due to the fact that my previous car had rear drum brakes, while this has all round discs.

The center armrest has a deep storage compartment, which I found to be very useful for putting various small items. However, I can't say the same for the glovebox which I felt was a little shallow. Nevertheless, there is definitely more than enough storage spaces in the front for all the necessities one would need to store in a car.

Ultimately, is it value for money? At this price point, personally I am not too sure. I do hope that this car can last a good 10 years, though the reliability of this new turbo engine can only be proven in at least a few more years time.

What I like
LED headlights
Side marker lights (personally feel that this really enhances the outlook of the car)
Sunroof gives an airy feel to the otherwise dark cabin interior
Auto door lock above certain speed
Relatively comfortable suspension
Lanewatch system camera has quite a good resolution
More than enough power for daily use
Fuel consumption is pretty decent
Very stable at highway speeds
Spacious rear seats & rear aircon vents
Apple CarPlay
Auto dimming rear view mirror
6 airbags
Paddle shifters

What I do not like
Price is high for its class (many other options available at this price point, even conti makes)
Long delivery time
Momentary lag on initial move off from stop, perhaps due to the CVT gearbox
No inbuilt GPS on headunit (have to use apple map on Apple CarPlay)
No auto folding side mirrors
Buttons on the steering wheel feel that they will come loose after a few years
Aircon controls such as fan speed and mode can only be controlled via the touch screen headunit

I currently own a FD4 for over 9 years and i am very happy with the card. Wanted to see how the new Civic 1.6 stacks up.

---------------------

Overall not a bad car.

What I like
Exterior styling is good
Car feels solid
Interior space is good
Very quite and goes over bumps without much hassle
Decent features

What I do not like
Price is always a premium
The floor hump at the passenger section. FD4 is flat. This is downgrade in comfort i would say. Makes a big difference while seating 3 people for long distance travel.
The steering wheel switches feel plasticky
some inter material feels cheap

Currently been driving the Honda Civic 1.6 since September 2016.
Never regretted. Drive feels firm. Cabin insulation is great. Reliable 1.6L engine brought over from the previous generation with a all new CVT gearbox.
Don't expect a fast furious car but a quiet worker

What I like
1) Sporty Design
2) Refined Cabin Noise
3) Smooth acceleration
4) very spacious interior
5) good handling
6) LCD dashboard
7) rear aircon vents

What I do not like
1) Feels plastic interior
2) Only the premium turbo model gets all the good stuffs like LED headlamps
3) FC is normal only.

Exterior
1) looks good
2) only 1.5T has the LED headlights
3) Car is low =) definitely has that sporty look
4) side mirrors look big! But are actually normal once you sit inside.
5) pretty nice looking stock rims
6) not a fan of the tail lights but hey looks are subjective
7) 1.6L has body colored door handles which is good! Chrome ones looks tacky

Interior
1) the steering wheel has nice leather wrapping. Smooth, good size
2) Steering wheel buttons are ok, volume controls lack abit of tactile feel
3) Seats are nice, not too body hugging, However! The 1.6L has no lumbar support for the driver! Why! Why honda why??? Long drives up north will always need lumbar support.
4) rear seats are quite flat which is good for sitting 3. But the left and right side edges sort of have the seat cut off abruptly.. Big piece of plastic suddenly appears.. Sad
5) 60/40 rear folding seats don't fold flat down... Unlike the old jazz/fit. Abit disappointed.
6)Good to have rear aircon vents
7) boot space is large, big opening also makes putting stuff in easy.
8) however due to the boot also being low, you have to lift up first then pull out your barang barang. In this aspect the CRV is better as the boot floor is flatter.
9) good all around visibility
10) good rear leg room even for tall guys.

Engine
1) 1.6L with CVT is normal, wont excite you even with the paddle shifters. But will do the job for city driving
2) during the drive, it felt smooth, no vibrations
3) ride was quite quiet, for sure quieter than my old vios.

Get it for - smooth quiet engine, nice looks, roomy interior

miss it for - low boot which is not good for old uncles/aunties with back issues.
no lumbar support for the 1.6

What I like
Smooth quiet engine, roomy interior

What I do not like
no Lumbar support
not really flat rear floor when the rear seats are folded.
Low boot - not the easiest to load groceries on the weekends
because of the sudden cut-outs on the left and right for rear passengers, when sitting 3 at the back, will be slightly uncomfortable.

This car never fails to impress me after driving it for 2 months plus. Got the 1.6l model as this engine has been proved its reliability for the past ten years.

Comfort and refinement is one of the best in its class. Its a very practical car with plenty of space for passengers.

Pickup speed of the vehicle is slightly sluggish due to the CVT gearbox but once its on the move its pretty powerful for a 1.6l car.

Exterior will turn many heads in the traffic lights with the new sleek designs and curves. A hint of the Audi A7 with its coupe like rear styling.

Great service from my Sales executive ( Freddy hp: 9681 3199) who never fails to answer all my questions patiently, aftersales service provided by him was top notch as well. Recommend those considering buying to give him a call.

What I like
-Exterior Styling
-Interior spaciousness
-Futuristic dashboard with digital speedometer
-Rear Aircon to cool the rear passengers
-Can fit 3 adults at the back comfortably
-Very reliable and quiet engine
-

What I do not like
-The little rear hump in the middle of the rear leg well
-Fuel consumption is mediocre, am getting about 10-12km/h with 50% highway 50% city

Like it or not, 1.6A acceleration from stop is poor. You need the 1.5T to beat an Altis. At higher speed, its handling is perfect!
The only disappointment is fuel efficiency. 12km/l on a good day and on economical mode.

The head unit is a little annoying displaying warning messages and requires the driver to press OK (taking his attention off the roads, or wasting time when starting the car) before moving into menus.

The fuel consumption meter displays litres/100km...

iPhone connects seamlessly and effortlessly. Be in a very good mood before you try to connect any Android via Bluetooth.

The seats are too low for me, but that is not a problem. The driver seat has poor ergonomics. Not to worry, after market add-on to the driver seats are springing up.... I drove my car to a workshop to mod the system, didn't feel too well, and the mechanic immediately showed me the add-ons and the literature on the poor head rest and back rest causing all the discomfort all around the world..... Third parties are quick to attack this market.

As my car broke down minutes after collection, I have to rate it a little lower on reliability, but not too low as the mechanic fixed it promptly.

What I like
The futuristic look and all the features of the car.

What I do not like
Slow on start. Poor ergonomics of driver seat. Heavy on fuel.

As an FD driver, was curious to try out the new civic. Went to Leng kee to test drive the 1.5T and like most bros here, agree on the power.

CVT wasn't as bad as I imagined it to be, though a 6spd/8spd torque converter 0r Dual Clutch would be better, secretly hoping that an old sch 6 spd manual option would surface someday too hahaha

Design wise, really not bad both inside and out. Can't say much about reliability as the car is still new, but the build quality seems acceptable though there are some evident cost cutting areas in the interior (compared to FD), but it's something I think most can live with. The only thing I didn't really like were the flimsy feeling steering wheel switches, which feel like they would fall off anytime (esp since FD has very good steering wheel controls)

I think the price is reasonable for both versions and am quite tempted to upgrade now..Hmmm

What I like
Performance
Design
Features (1.5T)
Interior space
Handling

What I do not like
Obvious cost cutting in interior trim pieces
Flimsy steering wheel control switches

I drove a VW Scirocco 1.4TSI previously. The car was mated with the infamous 7 speed dry DSG gearbox. I crossed over to the Civic Turbo for reliability sake. Plus it has 174bhp. More than enough to keep the rev yearning ex 1.4 twincharge owners owners pumped. But something I realised about that car after owning the new Civic Turbo is its refinement.

The Civic Turbo isn't a bad car to be honest. It has very sensible real estate space. Looks isn't too bad although not everyone is agreeable with the "Prawn-ish" Tail lights. Handling is pretty good for a sedan. I mean, its a Honda after all. Overall interior fitment is also a commendable effort. Infotainment system is buggy at times but I can live with it. Coolest part of the car would probably be its LED headlights and LCD style speedometer. First in its class!

This car has character. It is no Altis or Mazda 3 (sorry guys!)

But the refinement (in terms of NVH) is something to ponder over for people hoping to cross over from say, a VW. You will not get the insulation you were used to from the VW. Road noise is dampened. But the windows seems thinner. So every rev from the neighbouring Yamaha "Cub-kia" Will be pretty raw. When the rain falls on the sunroof's glass, you will thought that there was no glass at all.

Engine vibration is the biggest pet peeve here. The 1.5T engine is capable. But it sounds like an european diesel with extra loud direct injection. All these are audible in the cabin. If you are expecting a still and quiet cabin, you won't get it ( i hear the 1.6 one is quieter). You will feel vibrations under the seats, doors and trims. They say this is a characteristic of the engine. I don't really buy it. But some enjoy it. Saying they get to feel the car more. At the end of the day, it really is up to personal preference.

Refinement, reliability and drive are 3 biggest concerns to me. The Civic Turbo will give you reliability (i am harping on Honda's reputation) and drive. Look else where if refinement is part of your requirement.

What I like
- Engine power and consistent torque
- Drive
- General fitment and build of car's interior
- High level of connectivity in Infotainment system
- LCD Dash
- LED headlights

What I do not like
- Poor NVH of engine
- 1.5T engine's rattle, vibrations and sound are transmitted into the cabin
- Vibrations can irk some people who yearn for more refinement
- Engine sounds like a diesel

This is a review of the 1.5T version of the Civic

Tested the car at Leng Kee. The test route was unchallenging with no S bends nor hills to really push the engine and suspension. Traffic was heavy, so could not really stretch the legs of the car.

In the short drive I found the car to be a good compromise between able to carry 5 people and driving fun. Reminds me of what the 2005 Subaru Legacy was. But with neither the performance nor poor consumption that the Legacy was known for.

The Civic is fun to drive, with its agility, free-revving engine and smooth power delivery. Acceleration is good for a family car. A slight hint of turbo lag and reluctance of the CVT to shift gears stops the Civic from being a true wolf at traffic lights starts.

Civic will appeal to a younger family man who needs to carry passengers and luggage, but who finds the Camry and Teana too tame in looks and driving experience. The rear is surprisingly spacious, and the boot can take a golf bag with space leftover.

However unlike the Camry or Teana, the Civic does lack a luxurious cabin. At this price point, 1.5T should be match its rivals for a nicer cabin. But it does not.

What I like
Rev happy, refined and smooth DOHC engine
Coupe shape with 4 doors and headroom at rear even for 6-footers
Spacious rear bench for a car this size
Agile cornering
Taut chassis
Rear seat air con vents
Blind spot camera

What I do not like
CVT gearbox is slow to change down and up
Paddle shifters are plasticky
Lack of feel from the electrical steering
Centre tunnel too high
Lack of airbags for head protection
Lack of front seat adjustments (no lumbar support)
Finishing and materials in cabin for the relatively high price

Have been driving for last 3 mths & I have to admit this is a very comfortable car from point A to B. I really like the long central arm rest and make it 1 level above the last gen Civic. It looks also much better than the usual Japanese design of simplicity.
The 1.6-litre engine is a familiar one, same R16 engine carried over from the eighth generation FD model. But somehow, I feel this engine is a upgraded one. The CVT - simply to reduce carbon emissions and deliver a blend of performance and efficiency. Driving up North, the cabin is quiet and comfortable, well-suited for a family of 5. Although the drive does not give a spirited type of Fanboy trashing to red line, but it is good enough for highway effortlessly pull without loss of performance. The steering is good with making U-turn a blizz. Steering feedback is good and sharp making one pushing hard for corners. The rear mirror has glare dimmer is a plus. I like best is electronic brake hold in traffic and move off easily.
A very good family car to drive around. The design does last "The loving"

What I like
Transmission is smooth and good gearbox
Electronic brake hold, parking is superb
Good steering feel and feedback
Comfortable and quiet cabin
Carplay is good for iphone user
Fuel efficient and reliable
Nice design and futuristic
Good storage area

What I do not like
CVT acceleration is slow during move off
Boring Revs
Normal leather seat
Too low for senor citizen getting in/out
Rear seat hump restrict movement
Higher premium

Been driving my civic 1.6 for the past week. Simply love it! Looking forward to it for the past 2month. Test drive HRV and Civic, booked civic immediately! Feels much more responsive, better handling and sound proofing is superb!
The more I look at the exterior, the more I like it.

What I like
Sound proofing, Handling, Electronic display, Complete redesigned exterior, Many other things

What I do not like
Long waiting time, some of the piano black surface that seemed easily scratched. Not much to complain about yet.

Drove the 1.6 that is fitted with the old engine from 2008 model. Good thing is that the engine is tried and tested hence you do not need to worry too much. But i somehow feel that its a new car with an old heart. Fuel consumption is not as good as the other competitors.

What I like
The car is bigger now and there are alot more nice features now. I like the steering volume control on the steering wheel. Cabin is also pretty quiet.

What I do not like
The rear view of the car makes it look dated. With the spoiler it helps but i hope they redesign the rear of the car. Interior can be better if there are more colours that customers can choose from.

The gear box feels rubbery and seem to run on only one gear.

Im a owner of past 2 gens of civics and i must say this civic1.6 is d best! First n foremost is d outlook where profile and shape of d car is made to resemble a coupe, wif sleek headlights and c-shaped taillights, sure to turn heads. Its longer and wider den any previous civic so handling is much better.

Interior wise also well done up, with nice trimmings and finishing. Its d only 1.6 litre mass market sedan that has fully digital speedometer! Other nice features such rear aircon vents, cruise control, electric park brake and brake hold feature is super useful. Eventhough d car has no built in gps, d audio unit can link to iphone via apple carplay to utilise d gps in d iphone. Soundproofing is good and door closes wif a conti feel.

Only downside to this civic1.6 is d ivtec engine mated wif a earthdream cvt which makes acceleration a tad linear n boring. However wif paddleshift around, overtaking is stil a breeze. Kudos to d salesman at honda who patiently attended to me wif excellent service, otherwise i may hav doubts placing an order. Anyone keen to purchase a civic can look for shawn han 83399220. Can wait to lay hands on my new civic soon!

What I like
Sleek coupe like exterior
Nice interior wif good features
Good handling

What I do not like
Boring acceleration
