The Mokka X may be big in the Europe, but does it have the chops to go against more popular rivals like the Honda HR-V here in Singapore?

Review
I recently hired a Mokka X in the UK for a week. I had a manual petrol engined model, but a lot of my comments should also apply to the diesel version available here

Overall, the driving experience was very disappointing and it was a joy to get back to driving my Golf here.

What I like
- Styling is OK
- Interior quality and equipment are decent
- Visibility from high driving position is good

What I do not like
- Very underpowered
- Steering is heavy
- Gearbox notchy between first and second
- Brakes are poor and not progressive
- Ride is hard
- Road noise on expressways is terrible - admittedly on UK roads that are rougher than those in Singapore and at higher speeds
- Luggage space surpisingly limited

The Mokka X is a real joy to drive in the city. Thanks to its compact size, it is able to lane change effortlessly and isn't fazed by tight spots. Needless to say, parking is a breeze.

Quick and precise steering allow the Mokka X to take on corners with confidence and little body roll.

Boot space in the Mokka X is modest, but makes light work of grocery runs.

What I like
Exterior styling
Compact size is perfect for city driving
Practical, somewhat

What I do not like
Weird handbrake thingy

Review
The Mokka X is not a driver's car. However, it is perfectly capable of getting you around town without a hitch.

The interior of this car really shines through with its stylish design and quality materials. It also has pretty decent equipment that rival cars in the class above it.

Ride comfort is pretty good and fuel economy is great but the drive feels a tad bit uninvolving. Not really a problem for a daily driver though.

What I like
Stylish interior
Decent amount of features
Low emissions

What I do not like
Uninvolving handling
