The Peugeot 5008 1.2 combines handsome design, a modern and comfortable cabin and a frugal powertrain to deliver a seven-seater that makes practical sense.

This "New Variant" Is almost a complete car. Drives well and is comfortable. I didn't get it because the option for passenger electric seat was omitted out from our local variant of 3008 and 5008.

Same car across the causeway into our neighbouring Malaysia has got passenger electric seat as standard. The price of this car here is not cheap either. A simple bread and butter car like the forester has got proper electric seats for both driver and passenger, quite strange its omitted for a conti.

I hope that AutoFrance will bring in a proper full-spec variant for our market and not try to sell us expensive half baked cakes.

Overall, buy this ride if you don't mind the monotonous interior colour, no electric seat for passenger and a steep price.

What I like
Individual rear seats
7th row is doable for an adult unlike other would be 7 seaters
Front LED turn signals
Thigh support for seats
Memory Seat
Ambiance lighting
Good engine and transmission

What I do not like
No passenger electric seat for Singapore when Malaysia has got it.
Lack of interior colours
Crazy PRICE

Really impressive based on my own paper study as well as test drive experience (against similar mid-range Jap/Korean SUVs). It is clear winner in its class in most areas (exterior, interior, seats & performance).

Exterior - Look polished and elegant.

Interior - Posh finishing and futuristic feel with its "ICockPit". Loaded with intuitive features e.G. Lane marking warning, adaptive cruising, blind spot warning, etc. Sporty steering wheel and gear handle.

Seats - Comfortable 1st row (like other competitors). Spacious 3 x individual seats for 2nd row (unlike may others where middle seat is compromised). 3rd row is the game changer - acceptable leg room and width for anyone below 1.7m.

Performance - Despite the engine is only 1.6L, it is very efficient and powerful. It accelerates from 0-100km/h is less than 10s with 163bhp! It is more than enough to carry 7 x people. Very easy to handle with its electric and sporty steering wheel.

What I like
High-end looks
Futuristic cockpit
Good performance engine
High OMV (Allure model)

What I do not like
Limited colours
5-year warranty or 100,000KM (should be unlimited mileage!)
Quite Low in height despite having 18" wheels

Tried the same engine but a 5+2 Allure version too.

The 1st looks from the outside, I must admit the French are good at design. With the sleek lights and body lining. Reasonable height as an SUV from ground clearance as well. Front and back LED lights are designed nice too and captivating as well.

Inside the interior you see a futuristic cockpit like but its a car instead of a plane. Given a smaller steering feels sportier but need to get used to it of its shape. Panoramic roof is a standard and electric tailgate too. Wider legroom for a wider car though.

Turn off is the fabric seats that if want full leather, will be like a PI car that is wrapped over.

Comes with Active Dash Display that gives you many information you need during drive. Built with Lane Departure Assist, Blind Spot Assist and more knowing as visible gadgets to have these days.

The drive, moving off with more than 200nM is a good boost in a 1.6L engine but somehow a little rattling sound heard.

Gear changes along the way are pretty smooth but sometimes heard of when low speeds.

When "Dash" Or in the change to SPORTS mode, it can be a little noisy when throttle but the change is responsive.

Overall, if you go for looks, this is the one to look at where if performance is more of your liking, perhaps a German SUV is for you to look into.

What I like
Futuristic Cockpit
Sleek Exterior Design
Small Steering Wheel
Nimble drive
Active Display Dashboard
Electric Tailgate
Panoramic Roof
Visible Gadgets given
Wider space for a 5+2

What I do not like
Fabric seats
Engine noisy when revved
Price
Future Maintenance for parts and repairs

Test drove the 5008 back to back with the c4 Gp. Initially budget was 140k. Saw peugeot advertisement, went to showroom tested 1.2. Salesperson said same engine as the c4 gp, both 3 cylinders.TBH, the pickup was no better than a toyota vios norany other japanese sedans. Personally, i feel that the third row of seats are pretty much redundant as the headroom was really limited.Albeit its engine being sluggish, it has interir refinements like the materials they used. However, the fit & finish cannot be compared to touran nor sorento. Also tested the 1.6, better Nvh which the 1.2 was lacking when revved hard. Both engines not responsive.Highly recommend taking a look at Skoda kodiaq or even the cheaper kia sorento if anyone is lookin at 7 seat suv.

What I like
1.Interior design
2.exterior stylish
3.low road tax
4.friendly se

What I do not like
1.Low levels of refinement
2.Lack of power
3.Steep price
4.interior space lacking(less than x-trail/cr-v)
5.Peugeot resale very bad

Very beautiful car and a fresh look to its competition. Excellent pricing, low road tax without compromising performance and functionality.
Very nice drive on the road, easy pick up on the expressways and feels very stable on the roll.

What I like
1. Sporty look with lots of after market accessories option
2. Smooth gear shift and nice power despite its 1.6l engine
3. Deep discount in pricing compared to its competitors
4. Sufficient room space in the second row and third
5. Isofix options for all second row seats
6. Nice LCD cockpit display and compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android
7. Sufficient USB and 12V charging options
8. All bells and whistles standard eg lane safety, sun roof as compared to other competitors which would be add-on costs

Above for 1.6l Allure Model

What I do not like
1. Part fabric / leather combination (though you can go for full leather seats upgrade).
2. Default start-stop option
3. Aircon has to be set lower (-4deg relative) and fan noise can be quite loud.
4. Rear look can be sexier

Seen the 3008 on the road and when I heard there is a 7 seater variant in the likes of the 5008, I thought I just gotta see it in the flesh.

Drove down to Alexandra and was served by Willey. The 5008 has a larger wheel base compared to the 3008. It comes in 2 variants: the 1.2 and 1.6L. Given the attractive price of the 1.2 at SGD12*k.... I decided to take it for a spin.

The 1.6 has 18 inches wheels, panaromic roof, extra trimmings, a different front grill, LED headlights and electronic seats. The 1.2 has 17 inches wheels and a more sedated front grill and lights. 1.2 has SG fitted leather. 1.6 has half leather and fabric seats.

The ride was punchy with instant torque at about 230 nm at 1750 rpm. Lane departure signal was screaming as I put the car through it pace with deft overtaking manouveurs. In sports mode, it drags a little longer. All in, an awesome experience.

What I like
I-cockpit looks sci fi.
Wireless charging for mobile phone.... no messy cables.
Configurable dash. Wow... which car has that?
Full proper 3 seater for 2nd roll.
I am 1.79m tall and the last (3rd) roll was acceptable.
Flat vehicle floor.
Low cc engine (low road tax) with instant torque at low rpms.
Nice small steering wheel that looks damn sporty.

What I do not like
Tailgate not automated. Very heavy to close.
Electric steering. I have no feel of the road.
Insulation is not too good. Picked up all the road and wind sounds.
Sluggish take off (have to manage expectations given its a 1.2)

Read the European reviews and waited for the car to finally launch in Singapore, which they did at the recent Motor Show. Test drove and it made up my mind. Beautiful interior and iCockpit puts even the premium brands under pressure. Great kit for the price, smooth engine, spacious interior and even the 3rd row has decent space as long as 2nd row doesn't get too selfish. :)
For the equivalent kit with a German margue, you'd to pay through your nose. Compared with Japanese or Korean makes, this is a no brainer when you consider that it costs less than a Sorento (which i was thinking of) with a much higher level of polish. Been driving a Volvo for the past 6 years that I was satisfied with, but the 5008 gave me something Volvo couldn't - 7 seats, high quality interior and reasonably priced.

What I like
Android Auto
adequate space for all 3 rows
spacious boot
5 star NCAP
2nd row individually adjustable
iCockpit highly configurable
Panoramic roof
rear passenger blinds
Good driver support systems

What I do not like
no electric tailgate
no active city braking

Exterior - Drove to Mt Elizabeth Novena Hospital, it looked so posh and fitting parking among the Benz and BMW. The front has very contrasting chrome finish against the body. A majestic grandeur. The Benz and BMW are nice but too common, while the 5008 is so refreshing to look at.

Interior - a few years ahead of time. No speedometer, but a computer screen (i-cockpit). And a touch screen control which connects to iPhone/Andriod. Pretty decent factory speakers. Spaceship like interior. To my surprise, centre console is a "Fridge/chiller". The design is a visual pleasure. 2nd row has HUGE amount of space. Roll the 2nd row forward, the 3rd row will have ample space too. Floor has secret storage.

The 1.2L drive - Engine is so refined, no wonder won awards for 3 years. The drive is quiet, comfortable, relaxing. The height and long wheel base is a big plus to the comfort. I tried BMW 216 Grand Tourer, B class, Wish, Citroen Grand Picasso, the 5008 is the best in cocooning me comfortably home after a fast pace day at work. It does not jerk or gives sudden push forward, but accelerate very gracefully. Very easy to drive and park, aided by parking camera. Not suited for sprinting ! B class is good, but the short wheel base and low height makes the 5008 the better choice.

Reliability - 5 years warranty and the high quality materials used in 5008 gave me some assurance.

What I like
- 5 start Euro NCAP safety
- Curtain airbag stretch to 3rd row to protect my kids.
- The price, value for money.
- Keyless entry/exit and start.
- 1.2L engine for a 7-seater SUV, cheap road tax and petrol, yet enough power and refined.
- The "fridge"....my kids love it.
- i-cockpit
- Can play songs/youtube/phone calls from my phone through car speakers.
- Michelin Tyre (one of the most expensive brand)
- Spacious, yet car not as bulky as Odyssey/Estima
- The ride, the drive !!

- Mandy Law - 9858 3161 made a positive difference in the whole purchase experience. She surpassed my expectations, she's super honest and there is ZERO pressure to make you buy.

What I do not like
- No 3rd row aircon
- AutoFrance does not have ceramic coating service, unlike Cycle / Borneo.
