Honda HR-V 1.5 vs Skoda Karoq 1.5 vs Subaru XV 2.0i-S
The Skoda Karoq is the latest entry into our crossover segment but how well does it fare against more established rivals like the Honda HR-V and the Subaru XV?
HONDA HR-V 1.5
Roomiest-feeling second row
Decent fuel economy
Feels the least premium
SKODA KAROQ 1.5
Feels the most premium inside and out
Toriquest and quickest of the three
Biggest boot with the cleverest storage solutions
SUBARU XV 2.0I-S
Sportiest-looking inside and out
Most safety features
Most comfortable ride quality

Safe and fun crossover `
- Eyesight 2.0 works very well day or night, rain or shine. (Unless heavy downpour) - Low CG, very stable driving in and out of bends - 2litre CVT comfortably ascending Genting Highlands 4up and cruising on the NSH without much effort - Only downside is the small boot space

A good basic all round vehicle `
This is a good basic all round vehicle that is functional across a wide range of uses (family transportation, Sports Utility, etc.). The overall construction is very basic, with aesthetic and visible issues being the focus of the company. Costs saves have clearly been pushed within the hidden, unseen construction of the vehicle. However, the unseen quality quickly becomes apparent after a few months of ownership and will include the issues highlighted below. The 'tinny', cheap steel work used will be very apparent in the first rain storm. I liked this car at the start of ownership. It did everything i needed it to do. But the quality and poor systems performance (A/C) and exceptionally poor support from the Subaru agents have led me to rate this vehicle as a a high risk buy. Maybe, if you get one that has no intrinsic faults in the AC (leaks) I might still be able to live with the other poor quality issues.

A very reliable car `
Owned the XV for over a year, quite happy with the purchase so far. Full of safety features, easy to drive and easy to maintain. Especially like the adaptive cruise control function. I always turn it on when driving on the express ways. Very reliable feature give you ease of mind.

Subaru XV GT7 eyesight 2.0L `
Car is about 3 year old and there is nothing to dislike! The comfort and nvh is pretty good for this of segment. Engine performance is decent although its NA. FC wise for a awd its decent too but not the best. Handling wise to my preference its top notch. Takes bends and corners like a low slung sedan without sacrificing too much of comfort, the AWD system also lets you have the confidence to take on bends during wet weather. I always mod with my older cars and change out brakes, suspension parts but with this XV GT7, the stock parts are good enough for my usage. Good job Subaru!
