I don't own one but I am driving one because I work in the Transport industry. It is the V6 3.5 litres latest facelift model from Vin Car. 2 pilot electric reclining pilot seats in the centre row. Bench seats for last row. Can be used as knock down seats. If need even more space, after knock down you can fold and lift up the seats and it by the side windows. Takes abit of technical skills to do that. Ventilated seats for driver and front passenger. Aircon for front and back can be adjusted separately. Comes with moon roof. Electric sunroof for centre and manual sunroof for front.

Decent warranty coverage although different mileage for different components. Comparing to the previous models, this model improved alot. There is also storage space at the tyre compartment which was not available in the previous models.

What I like
1) Lower height comparing to previous models. Ok for carpark heights of 1.9 meters. Don't dare to try 1.8 meters.

2) Ultimate comfort ride for passengers especially at the centre pilot seats. My guests oftenly fell asleep halfway through the ride.

3) Pliant and soft suspension. Decent sound proofing also. Comparable to a Mercedes V Class.

4) Ample space for bulky luggages and cargo like golf bags. You can also transport a dismantled racing bicycle in a bicycle bag with the knock down seats folded up. The storage space at the spare tyre compartment is very useful too.

5) Standard Toyota kind of reliability and aircon performance.

What I do not like
1) No 360 parking. Not a big problem for me though. There are parking sensors with visual alarm front and back. Vin Car model also comes with reverse cam.

2) Despite of the 3.5 litres V6 the pickup is quite sluggish because of the sheer heavy weight. Can feel the car is very heavy. Can feel the heavy weight inertia when you brake.

3) Because of the soft suspension I feel that other big MPVs like Nissan Elgrand handles better. Ultimately Alphard/Vellfire is still a van. Can't expect it to handle like a Sedan.

4) Don't need to talk about fuel consumption. If fuel consumption is your concern for a MPV, Nissan Serena is a good choice.

Comfort: Suspension setup is much more decent as compared to the previous generetion.

Chairs can be adjusted in quite a bit of angle to your body posture. Engine noise is quite minimal. The spaciousness is a no brainer.

Reliability: I can say that the gearbox is much improved as compared to it's predecessor 2.4L generations.

What I like
When put gear to P, parking brake auto engage.

Dashboard can display Digital Speedometer.

Hybrid Version: it shows the engine RPM as an option. Cool!

Refined interior, quiet ride.

Side mirror is big.

Easy board and get off.

What I do not like
2.5 is insufficient to push this elephant.
However it's decent along the expressway.

bumper is too low, easily scratched while negotiating a turn.

rear view mirror is small. but it's OEM anyway. Toyota don't bother to make their own mirror.

U turn is a challenge. Legit.

This is the best car for family and long distance driving. Stability, weight, and design play an important role in the wind cut. Well, you can't aspect much to be at top speed as you will end up in the drain!

What I like
Slick design
Interior features and design

What I do not like
Rear seat can't fold flat. This will consume much space lost when folding to the side

Review
The Toyota Alphard has long been a car recognised for ferrying 'towkays' around town. Although I am no 'towkay,' space, comfort and reliability are my priorities when it comes to choosing a family car due to the fact that I have four children.

The new Alphard proves to be an icon of the factors mentioned above, hence my decision to have a look at it last weekend. I have never owned one of these things before and I am thoroughly impressed by the amount of space it has to offer.

The third row seats aren't something to chuck your kids into but it can actually comfortably fit a pair of adults. Interior quality is well-built too, kudos Toyota!

What I like
- A new double wishbone suspension is used for the rear, translating into a luxurious, comfortable ride with stable handling.
- A welcoming interior with comfort-enhancing features (its akin to stepping into a mini hotel room)
- Stylish exterior design

What I do not like
- The 2.5-litre engine lacks a bit of punch, would be great to have the 3.5-litre V6 engine.
- Vellfire design looks better (might just go for that instead!)
- Not the easiest vehicle to park around town (but somethings got to give considering the amount of space you get)
