BMW 730i M-Sport (A) Review
19 Aug 2016  |  BMW Reviews
Despite a downsized 2.0-litre powerplant, the BMW 730i exhibits an agility and road-handling capability that belies its limousine reputation.

Great car to drive when new. After about 2 years, issues and never ending problems will pop up. Definitely not a car I would keep or drive for 10 years.

What I like
Styling
Equipment
Interior
Sound system

What I do not like
Poor reliability
Endless trouble codes
Heavy maintenance and running cost
Spends a lot of time at the workshop

Got a chance to experience this boss car over the weekend while visiting my parents. Saw this car in the porch and decided to try it. This car really gave me more than i expected. If I had an additional 400k to spare, i would definitely commit to buying one of these.

What I like
Cool Features
Good Looking Headlight Design
Comfortable and cushiony seats
Nice tablet in centre of passenger seats
Central console is nice

What I do not like
Not really powerful engine coming from an Audi SQ5 with slight modifications

The BMW 7 series ranks amongst the top in terms of luxury and modern conveniences. Within its segment, it drives and handles well (740li) and boasts the best infotainment system available from mainstream car manufacturers in terms of its ease of use and speed of response.

The rear seats of the 740li allows the head honcho to recline comfortably with the controls of the blinds, sunroof, media entertainment at his / her fingertips.

What I like
1. iDrive is a wonderful marriage of form and function. It is now touch enabled.

2. New surround view with 3D simulation useful to gauge surroundings when parking or moving out.

3. Massage seats not just in the rear seats but also in the front.

What I do not like
1. It is expensive and depreciation is steep.

2. Some of the features are gimmicky. Why would I want to twirl my finger to adjust the volume when there are buttons on the steering wheel which can do the same task without the drama?

3. The interior design is an evolution of the previous model and looks quite dated.

This car has the performance, comfort and tech features you expect in 2016. My favorite would be the new remote. Although compared with the Audi A8 or the Lexus LS, the beemer is surely on the noisier side, the cabin insulation is something remarkable.

What I like
The new seats are finally up there with the likes of the Mercedes S Class. The interior is very elegantly designed with all the required controls easily accessible while those rarely used are placed in deeper menus on the iDrive system. And of course, BMW's head unit is by far the most engaging ang easy to use while driving. With the new model, the touch screen is a handy feature (Somehting I never expected from the German leaders).

What I do not like
Suspension is definitely on the firmer side, but I guess thats the compromise made for the sporty feel on the road. All the nice new features seem to come only in the additional packages and not as standard. I would like to see BMW offer the new technology at every trim level, at least the Head Up Display. There are too many drive modes, I feel the fined tuned controls are really handy but just not streamlined enough.
