Nissan claims third spot on local sales charts

Nissan is the third best-selling brand in Singapore for the first half of 2014. The Japanese automotive brand clocked a total sales of 1,998 units, behind second spot Mercedes-Benz with 2,472 units, and top spot Toyota (including Lexus) which has sold a total of 3,275 vehicles in the year so far.
More notably, Nissan has achieved the largest increment of market share - from six percent previously to the current 13 percent. In comparison, the marque achieved 455 sales in the same period last year.
Tan Chong Motor Sales, the local authorised distributor of Nissan vehicles, has also maintained its stronghold on the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment.
Besides retaining its top position in the market, Nissan has improved its market share by 14 percent to 39 percent - ahead of rival Toyota and Mitsubishi with 28 percent and eight percent respectively.
Three of Nissan's LCVs, including the NV200 compact van, the NV350 mid-sized van and bus and the Cabstar light truck, remained as the best-selling models in their respective segments.
