The new and improved 2015 Volkswagen Jetta, which made its debut at the New York Auto Show back in April, is now available for bookings in the U.K. with initial deliveries in December.
The upcoming Jetta carries a revised design with enhanced features, trims and greater efficiency. The Jetta adorns a sleeker design and a 10 percent improvement in aerodynamics.
At the front, there's a revised radiator grille with three horizontal fins and a reprofiled bumper beneath while the rump features a more aerodynamic boot lid, new taillights and a revised bumper.
The cabin provides revised instruments, a new steering wheel design and a variety of new trims around the centre console in addition to new fabric designs for the seats and door trims. Volkswagen also believes the new ambient lighting in the Jetta GT gives an upmarket feel.
In the U.K. the new Jetta models will feature BlueMotion Technology modifications, including stop/start and battery energy recuperation. The engines on offer are a 123bhp rated 1.4-litre TSI unit linked to a six-speed manual gearbox and a 147bhp rated 1.4-litre TSI linked either to a six-speed shifter or a seven-speed DSG.
The Jetta will also house a 108bhp rated 2.0-litre TDI lump, linked to either a five-speed manual or seven-speed DSG gearbox, while a higher 147bhp power unit linked to either a six-speed shifter or six-speed DSG will also be available.
For the U.K. consumers, the range-topping Jetta GT trim is offered with 15mm lower sports suspension, 17-inch 'Lancaster' alloy wheels, front sports seats, automatic headlights, and among others, ambient interior lighting.
