Back in May, BMW unveiled the BMW M5 '30 Jahre M5' (30 Years of the M5) to mark the 30th anniversary of the iconic BMW M5 nameplate. The 300-unit limited special edition develops 600bhp and peak torque of 700Nm from a 4.4-litre V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology - which propels the German scud missile from nought to the century mark in a brisk 3.9 seconds.
The base for the upgrades was provided by the Competition Package, which can be optionally ordered for the regular model. The Competition Package comprises modifications including a revised chassis set up with firmer spring/damper tuning and, among others, a 10mm drop in ride height.
While it all sounds good on paper, what does it feel like to pound the most powerful BMW M5, and the BMW in history, on the tarmac? Watch the video to find out.
