The largest facelift project ever undertaken by Volvo - the revamped 60 range and the updated S80 involving around 3,000 changes - along with the all new V40 R-Design was launched by authorised Volvo distributor, Wearnes Automotive.
There are several examples of attention to detail in the new 60 range such as the relocated washer nozzles and gloss black finished radar cover which is concealed within the grille. The chrome frame around the grille has been removed and the new, bigger ironmark badge enhances the new cars' self-confident look.
The 60 range and S80 are now available in new exterior colours like Rich Java (XC60 exclusive), and Power Blue (S60 only), on top of Crystal White Pearl and Bright Silver.
Polestar Power Optimisation is also available for the T4 and T6 variants of the new 60 range and the S80 for optimised power and torque delivery, making the car more lively and fun to drive. Of course, this is done without affecting the original Volvo warranty.
The 8-inch TFT display, also known as Adaptive Digital Display, delivers personalised information via three graphic themes.
The Elegance theme is the default mode with a sleek and sophisticated aura while the Eco theme features green background illumination with an Eco meter on the left. The current and accumulated fuel consumption figures are displayed - and the driver is rewarded with a green E light when eco-driving is optimal.
The Performance theme has red background illumination, with a rev counter replacing the speedometer displayed in the Elegance and Eco versions. The speed is shown digitally in the centre of the display while a power meter on the right informs the driver how much power is available and how much power is being used at any given moment in time.
The Volvo 60 range and the S80 also feature an enhanced City Safety system. This system is active at speeds up to 50km/h where the car automatically brakes if the driver fails to react in time.
There is also an optional new Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection technology now. The new Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection with full auto brake is equipped with an advanced sensor system that scans the area ahead.
Volvo S60
The new Volvo S60 design, with its purposeful, dynamic appearance, accentuates the car's sporting nature. The sedan's horizontal lines are better emphasised with details such as a wider grille, Active Bending Xenon Headlights, Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) and a new LED light guide on the tail lamps. An exterior styling kit - front bumper bar, diffuser and side scuff plate available in three colours - Silver, Iron Stone and Terra Bronze increases the personalisation possibilities for customers.
Volvo XC60
On the exterior, the Volvo XC60 gets a more urban twist. The redesigned front features a new hood shape that emphasises the wide, confident look.
Other exterior changes include the sleeker headlamp cluster, colour coordinated lower door sill moulding, lower side panels, front and rear bumper and chrome tailgate decor among others. The exterior styling kit of the S60 is also available.
In the cabin, the XC60 benefits from textile B-pillars and silk metal frames around the air vents and light controls. The refined Volvo XC60 has a commanding driving position supported by generous ground clearance and class-leading chassis.
Volvo V60
The V60 is for people who need the versatility of an estate but with the handling of a sports sedan. For Volvo, the V60 is a sports wagon with a coupe-like appearance, delivering a dynamic driving experience, with the same pin-sharp handling as its sister sedan with the standard Dynamic chassis.
The extra versatility of the Volvo V60 is in its intelligent seating. The rear seats can be folded down in three 40/20/40 segments, so that the rear 430 litres of load space can be supplemented quickly and easily. Parents favour the optional Volvo V60's two-stage integrated booster cushions for children. With one simple movement, the booster cushions pop-up from the seat base giving a comfortable and safe ride height for children from three years and up.
Volvo S80
The second generation Volvo S80 was introduced back in 2006 and has finally undergone a mid cycle refresh. Rectangular DRLs provide the S80 with a more contemporary look, while the slightly redesigned rear lights visually pulls the car to the tarmac.
Volvo claims that the S80 Executive interior offers the highest level of all inclusive luxury, blending craftsmanship with technology. The S80 is offered from two chassis types - Comfort Chassis and Four-C (Continuously Controlled Chassis Concept).
Volvo V40 R-Design
Volvo is rolling out its sporty trim level to the V40, with the launch of R-Design models. Think of R-design as Volvo's answer to Audi's S-line trim, or M Sport on a BMW.
Following the success of the V40 Cross Country, which took the market by storm, the new Volvo V40 R-Design is designed around the performance-minded individual with a passion for adding spice to life.
With its luxury look that exudes the aura of a compact car with large car capabilities, the Volvo V40 R-Design also boasts class-leading driving dynamics attributed from careful attention devoted to its key areas.
