Luxglove brought together an immersive weekend of classic cars, watches, whiskies, collectibles and more, with the inaugural Luxglove Classic Car Weekend; held at Asiatique Collections on 24th and 25th September. The event featured a showcase of 20 classic cars, as well as panel talks by industry experts on collecting classic cars and other collectibles. The weekend festivities kicked off with a VIP cocktail party on the eve of the event.
Talenia Phua Gajardo, CEO and Founder of Luxglove - an online marketplace - was invited onstage for a welcome speech. The highlight of the event, a rare 1961 Ferrari 250 GTE, was unveiled to great fanfare.
Guests were treated to canapes, refreshments, as well as a whisky tasting session featuring an exceptional portfolio of single cask Scotch whiskies. Presented by Mike Soldner of B28, the tasting included one outstanding single cask from each major Scotch whisky-producing region.
The event's main attraction was the showcase of 20 high-performance, luxury, classic, and rare cars; featuring car makes such as Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini and Jaguar. A 1961 Ferrari 250 GTE - the 265th unit produced in the first of three series, of which 954 units were produced - was on sale at the event, alongside other exquisite vintage cars. Other cars on display included a 1972 Ferrari 246 GT Dino, 1959 Porsche 356A and 1978 BMW M1, along with a rare Lamborghini Diablo.
The organised panel talks at the event were over-subscribed, with many like-minded collectors and enthusiasts gathering to glean insights from industry experts into the realm of collecting. Delivered in an intimate salon-style format, the panel talks delved into topics spanning from the mechanics of collecting, to rare watches. Speakers included Nicholas Biebuyck of Christie's Hong Kong, Oliviero Bottinelli of Audemars Piguet, and Michael Tay of The Hour Glass.
A curated selection of pre-owned watches and rare whiskies, as well as beautiful design objects and furniture from Asiatique was also available for purchase at special prices during the event. Guests also brought down pre-owned timepieces on Sunday, 25th September, for free valuation services provided by the Senior Watch Specialist at Christie's Hong Kong, Mr. Biebuyck. Food trucks were stationed at the event, with The Traveling C.O.W., Coffee Bandits and Popaganda serving up gourmet food and drinks.
