Besides adventures and 'going anywhere, doing anything', Land Rover has always been associated with giving back to society and humanitarian works. In celebration of National Day, Wearnes Automotive organised its first ever charity drive with Rainbow Centre Singapore, the Singapore Recreation Club (SRC) and Land Rover Owners Singapore. A fleet of 50 Land Rover cars set off from the Land Rover showroom yesterday and proceeded to Rainbow Centre Schools at Margaret Drive and Yishun to pick up students with special needs.
The convoy passed by the iconic Orchard Road and ended at the SRC where they enjoyed a live screening of the National Day Parade and fireworks display. "We are delighted to partner Land Rover Owners Singapore, Rainbow Centre and Singapore Recreation Club for this meaningful event to celebrate Singapore's 52nd birthday. This is in line with Land Rover's brand values of being part of a deserving cause and giving back to the society," said Corinne Chua, General Manager, Jaguar Land Rover, Wearnes Automotive.
"The Padang has hosted many civic and sporting events in the short 52 years of our nation's history. We are honoured to share the Padang with the community-at-large to celebrate our National Day, especially Rainbow Centre with help from Land Rover owners," said Dr. Sarbjit Singh, President, Singapore Recreation Club.
