Acura, Honda's American luxury arm, has announced a new V6 engine for its TSX sports sedan, which is based on the Honda Accord.
The new engine is taken from the TSX's siblings, the TL and RL, and the 3.5 litre unit is capable of producing 280bhp.
As a result of the extra power, a number of updates have been made to the TSX. Chief of which is stiffer suspension, and a new control setting for Acura's Sequential SportShift 5-speed automatic transmission with F1-style paddle shifters.
Other changes include new five spoke, 18 inch aluminium wheels, a slightly revised front end, and V6 badging all around.
The 3.5 litre V6 joins the base 2.4 litre four-cylinder TSX in the range. The smaller engine produces 201bhp and is available with either a 6-speed manual or optional 5-speed automatic.
All 2010 TSX models feature a double wishbone front and multilink rear suspension system, while the new V6 model's independent front suspension receives firmer springs and revised calibration for the dual-mode suspension dampers.
Like all Acura, the TSX come packed with numerous features as standard equipment, like a power moonroof, automatic climate control, a premium seven-speaker sound system with XM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth hands-free and USB and auxiliary ports. Optional equipment that could be specified includes Acura's Technology Package, which adds satellite navigation, a reversing camera, and a premium sound system.
