Kia has announced that the facelifted Cee'd family car will be unveiled at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show

The facelift was done under the auspices of Kia's chief of design Peter Schreyer, and contains styling hints from Ford with the front, and a Peugeot-esque triangular side windows at the rear of the estate model, further enhancing the European look of the Cee'd.

There are also changes under the skin too, with a brand new suspension setup and a stop-start system for their environmentally friendly ECO-dynamics version which will help reduce emissions. The car is also 25mm longer and promises a thoroughly revised interior design and equipment specifications.

There will also be an updated version of their 1.6 litre diesel engine with ISG fuel-saving technology which will be mated to a new six-speed manual gearbox. A hill-holder function for the ESP system and projection headlights are also new to the Cee'd.

The facelifted Cee'd is expected to go on sale in Europe in October.
