Honda has given its popular CR-V SUV a facelift for 2010, with a new engine and refreshed looks

The new engine is a "cleaner, more powerful 2.2-litre diesel", according to Honda. The unit is dubbed i-DTEC, and is also featured on the Accord. The engine produces 148bhp, an increase of 10bhp from before, and 350Nm of torque. An automatic transmission is also available as an option.

Styling-wise, the CR-V gets redesigned front and rear bumpers, a new grille, and new alloy wheel designs, available in either 17 or 18-inch sizes. Inside, the CR-V gets new materials, more sound dampening, and an improved audio system. There are also three new body colours, Alabaster Silver, Premium White Pearl, and Urban Titanium, added to the range.

The CR-V will be chock-full of equipment, with the base SE trim available with heater mirrors and 17-inch alloys, while the middle ES trim gets 18-inch wheels, dimming rear view mirror, a USB port, and electric folding mirrors, as well as heated leather/Alcantara seats. The top range EX trim adds HID Xenon headlamps, eight-way power seats, body coloured bumpers, a glass roof, rain sensors, and a DVD sat-nav.

The facelifted CR-V will be officially introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and Honda will release more details later in the year.
