Hennessey to unveil carbon-look Hyundai Genesis Coupe at SEMA Show
American tuners Hennessey’s Tuner School has come up with a carbon-look Hyundai Genesis as its showcase product at the upcoming SEMA Show
01 Nov 2009  |  Foreign News:  USA Viewed : 1,521 times

The carbon-look Hyundai Genesis Coupe is the result of Hennessey Performance Engineering’s 14 week Tuner School program, where students learn about engine building, turbo and supercharging and testing.

The Tuner School was established as a way to offer its students a one-of-a-kind opportunity to hone their craft, learn from professionals in the field, and springboard their career in the aftermarket industry, according to founder John Hennessey.

On choosing the Genesis Coupe, Hennessey said, "The Genesis Coupe architecture is the ideal platform for tuners looking to make everyday modifications to their vehicles and our students at the Tuner School took full advantage. The visually stunning complete carbon fibre matte black wrap and high-end performance benchmarks create a monster SEMA car."

The modified Hyundai Genesis Carbon Coupe features a Hennessey Custom Single Turbo Setup consisting of a Precision 66 mm ball bearing turbocharger, Tial blow off valve and a 44 mm wastegate to keep the boost under control. A HKS boost controller will regulate the amount of charged air going into the engine while the fuel pump and injectors have also been upgraded. This gives the Genesis Carbon Coupe a power output of 500bhp and a 0-100km/h sprint time of just 3.9 seconds.
