New diesel engine available for the 2010 Honda CR-V
Honda has announced that its CR-V soft-roader, facelifted for 2010, has been given a new and more powerful diesel engine
22 Nov 2009  |  Foreign News:  UK Viewed : 1,301 times
The Honda CR-V was recently given a facelift for the 2010 model year, with minor exterior tweaks like a new bumper and grille, as well as upgraded fabrics and plastics on the inside. But the biggest change is the new 2.2 litre i-DTEC engine that is available with an automatic gearbox.

The new diesel unit, which was first used in the Accord, produces 150bhp and 350Nm, and can be mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or an automatic transmission. With the manual gearbox, the new CR-V can go from 0-100km/h in 9.6 seconds, and reach a top speed of 190km/h, while the automatic gearbox can go from 0-100km/h in 10.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 187km/h.

Aside from the diesel, the CR-V is also available with a 2.0 litre petrol engine that produces 150bhp and 192Nm of torque, and with a manual transmission, it can go from 0-100km/h in 10.2 seconds, while the automatic can do the same sprint in 12.2 seconds.

The CR-V is available with three trim levels in the UK, with the base SE trim featuring newly-designed 17-inch alloy wheels as standard as well as an auxiliary socket, cloth upholstery and power-heated door mirrors.

The middle ES trim meanwhile has 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, auto-dimming mirror, cruise control, double-deck cargo space, electric folding mirrors, half leather and Alcantara heated seats, headlight washers, front fog lights, leather steering wheel and gear knob, rear parking sensors, unique interior inlay trims and USB connector for an iPod as standard equipment.

The top-of-the-range EX trim gets full body-coloured bumpers as well as DVD voice-activated satellite navigation with premium audio and subwoofer, full leather upholstery with front heated seats, HID Xenon headlights and auto headlight on function, panoramic roof, rain sensor, reverse tilt mirror and 8-way driver power seat, in addition to the equipment already found in the ES model.
