Volvo Vehicles to be part of Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games fleet
The Singapore Youth Olympics Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) and Volvo signed a sponsorship agreement where Volvo joins the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (Singapore 2010) as the Official Automobile Sponsor.

Volvo will provide Singapore 2010 with a fleet of over 100 vehicles which include Volvo models such as the S80 sedan and XC90 7-seater sport utility vehicle (SUV). These vehicles will be used during Games Times to transport delegates between venues, as well as for broadcast operations. Volvo vehicles will also be used in the Cycling Road Race event as service support, race doctor and commissaire vehicles. Each vehicle will also have a unique Singapore 2010 licence plate.

"With the fleet of Volvo vehicles, we are able to strengthen the Games’ existing transport system, by offering officials and workforce customised transport services to meet operational requirements. The partnership begins almost immediately when the Volvo fleet of vehicles will be used during the Singapore 2010 Chefs de Mission Seminar next week. We are also pleased to have Volvo support our transport requirements for the heads of delegations attending the Games in August," said Mr Goh Kee Nguan, Chief Executive Officer of SYOGOC.

"Using sports to bring together youths from all over the world, the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is an ideal platform to incubate the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect among the young athletes. SM Motors is delighted and certainly privileged to support the inaugural YOG. With our automotive models reflecting common athletic traits of agility, performance and excellence, their presence at the event will help to echo the dynamism and energy of the YOG," shared Mr Victor Kwan, General Manager, SM Motors Pte Ltd.
