The limited edition cars will be shown off at the Le Mans Classic, a biennial race featuring classic cars on the same 13.65-kilometre circuit as the endurance race, and have been produced by Ford as a tribute its success in the Le Mans 24 Hours race in the 1960s and 1970s.

The cars are painted in five different liveries, to symbolise the cars that made history at the historic race. There is one in black with silver stripes, for the 1966 Le Mans-winning Ford Mk II, one in red with white stripes honouring the 1967 Ford Mk IV, one edition painted in the Gulf colours of light blue and orange, the same paintwork as the GT40 that won Le Mans in 1968 and 1969, one Focus RS in white and blue to pay tribute to the 1972 Ford Capri RS 2600, which won the Touring category that year, and finally, one in white, with a "thin blue centre stripe surrounded by a red border", similar to the look of a Ford Mk IIB that Ford raced in 1967.

Each special edition Focus RS Le Mans Classic comes with four Recaro seats wrapped in stitched leather and quilted Alcantara, in contrasting colours meant to match the exteriors, and matching trim for the gearknob, handbrake and front arm rest. The front seats also get leather seat belts. The cars will be available for sale after the Le Mans Classic, which will be held from July 9 to 11, and come with a limited edition Le Mans Classic three-dial automatic chronograph watch.
