If your profession requires you to travel far from the beaten path, then you know how handy a good 4x4 is. But, what if you have to carry a bunch of people & gear?

Well, Volkswagen has a solution.

Called the Transporter Rockton 4Motion, this full sized van can carry 3.2 metric tons of™cargo, while traversing difficult terrain.

This go-anywhere van puts power to the ground through VW's full-time 4Motion system, which has a Haldex coupling, and a locking rear differential.

The Transporter Rockton has 30mm of extra ride height, heavy-duty springs, heavy-duty dampers, and a heavy-duty 6-speed transmission.

If that isn't™heavy-duty enough for you, VW even offers an "Expedition Package", which features 16-inch steel wheels, with All-Terrain tyres, a specially geared transmission, an innovative floor-rail system for securing cargo and seats.

There's also a "Protection Package", which adds skid-plates over the major components underneath the vehicle.

Power comes from a 2.0 litre TDI which can be had with either 138 hp, or 178 hp. Plus, any interior equipment that's available on the Transporter Kombi, can be ordered for the Rockton.
