The Boxster E prototypes are powered by a 29kWh battery which sends power to two electric motors that produce 241bhp. Porsche has not released details, but said that the performance will be comparable to the Boxster S model, which accelerates from 0-100km/h in 5 seconds, and can reach a top speed of 274km/h.
"The electrical mobility is a central challenge of the coming years and the engineers at Porsche would like to contribute with the usual excellence of them to be resolved. The Boxster E will help us as mobile laboratories in solving the practical problems of electric vehicles the way that our customers expect, "Matthias Müller, CEO of Porsche AG, said at the launch of the Boxster E.
