Opel's British brand Vauxhall has introduced a new 1.4-litre turbo engine for the Insignia, as well as a set of improved ECOFlex diesel engines

The 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine is the same powerplant that is found in the Astra, and produces 140bhp and 200Nm of torque. The new engine is available for the Insignia hatchback, sedan and Sports Tourer estate models, and is claimed to return a fuel consumption figure of 5.5 litres per 100km.

Vauxhall has also updated the Insignia’s range of 2.0-litre four-cylinder CDTI diesel engines for the Insignia ECOFlex. The engines, which are Euro 5 emissions compliant, is now available with start/stop technology, along with under-body aerodynamic measures and low rolling resistance tires help to improve fuel consumption.
