The facelifted Hilux now has a redesigned front end with a different grille dressed in chrome, new bonnet, headlamps and front bumper. There are also redesigned front and rear wings, a new crop of 15- and 17-inch steel and alloy wheels, plus new door mirrors.
Inside, Toyota has restyled the upper part of the dashboard and the instrument binnacle, while the company also claims to have improved quality “through the adoption of uniformly darker finishes with a greater colour consistency throughout the interior, and the addition of silver ornamentation”.
The new Hilux now also features variable nozzle turbocharging under the bonnet, which means that the two-wheel-drive 2.5-litre D-4D models now get an extra 24bhp, with the four-cylinder diesel engine now churning out 144bhp. Additionally, all two-wheel-drive Hilux models now come equipped with the chassis of four-wheel-drive models, which improves vehicle ground clearance and increases towing capacity to 2.5 tons. The 2.5-litre D-4D and 3.0-litre D-4D also now gets a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).
