Subaru XV Crossover launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show

The XV Crossover is based on the new Subaru Impreza, and the Japanese company is targeting the Nissan Qashqai with its latest creation. The XV Crossover features a different body style from the Impreza, and has a jacked up suspension that provides close to 220mm of ground clearance.
The compact-sized model measures 4,450mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,570mm in height and will go on sale in Europe with a choice of three boxer engines, including 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre petrol units, and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel.
The 1.6-litre petrol produces 114bhp and 150Nm of torque, and is available with a 5-speed manual or a Lineartronic CVT. With the 5-speed manual, the XV Crossover is able to go from 0-100km/h in 13.1 seconds, and hit a top speed of 179km/h.
The 2.0-litre petrol meanwhile, comes with 150bhp and 196Nm of torque, and is fitted with either a 6-speed manual or an optional Lineartronic CVT. In manual guise, the XV Crossover 2.0 goes from 0-100km/h in 10.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 187km/h.
For the 2.0-litre turbo diesel, the unit churns out 147bhp and 350Nm of torque, and only comes with a 6-speed manual. 0-100km/h is achieved in 9.3 seconds, and the XV Crossover diesel has a top speed of 198km/h. All models come equipped with Subaru's AWD system, while the Subaru has also added its “Auto Start Stop System" to the XV Crossover.
