Mercedes has announced three trim levels - the Executive SE, AMG Sport, AMG Sport Plus for its 2013 C-CLass range.
The Executive SE will be the entry level trim for the C 180 to C 220 models equipped with a range of powertrains despite Saloon or Estate. The Executive SE trim includes a sports grille, 16-inch alloy wheels, Artico upholstery and LED daytime running lights.
The new Elegance package will be replaceed by a new Luxury Package (LP) with the Executive SE, for an added premium. The LP includes the three louver grille with bonnet-mounted star, seven-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels, automatically dimming rear view mirror and folding exterior door mirrors, chrome highlights, a storage package and matte finished brown Ash wood trim.
The AMG Sport will cost less on the Saloon and Estate, and feature 17-inch AMG wheels and halogen headlights. Moreover they are cleaner with reduced CO2 emissions over the replacing models. For example, the current C 220 CDI Sport Saloon with manual transmission emits 133g CO2/km whereas the new C 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY AMG Sport Saloon with manual transmission emits 123g CO2/km.
The high end AMG Sport Plus, comes with 18-inch bi-colour AMG alloys, advanced bi-Xenon front lights, and AMG branded sports seats and floor mats. The interior is trimmed in Black Artico/Dinamica with contrast red stitching, seat belts and silver gearshift paddles for automatic transmissions.
The AMG Sport Plus will be available on the Coupe as well and receives an additional body coloured AMG boot lip spoiler. An AMG Handling Package is also on offer to improve the performance and driving dynamics. The Dynamic Handling Package will be available on selected Saloon and Estate models as well.
Besides the new trim structure there are also changes to the powertrain options. The C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY will be powered by a more efficient turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine with electric power steering to further bolster economy. It has 154bhp and 250Nm of torque. The 3.5-litre V6 will only be available on the Coupe.
Mercedes-Benz has announced a slew of updates and upgrades for its 2013 C-Class range ranging from cleaner engines to updated trim variants.
