  • Recent teaser by Volvo is for a new music video - no new crossover in sight

Three days ago we posted a teaser video claiming Volvo might unveil a new model that would slot in between the V40 Cross Country and the XC60. We were wrong.

Turns out we were very wrong, and the teaser was in fact for a music video for a new rendition of the hit song 'Leave the World Behind' by well renowned DJ trio - Swedish House Mafia (SHM). According to Volvo, the song and video will also be the leading theme in the Swedish marque's upcoming global launch campaign of the new Volvo XC60.

Volvo Cars has for many years been promoting its XC range as the vehicle that brings you out of town and into a tranquil or adventurous experience - away from your busy urban life. The new XC60 is no exception.

Prior to breaking up after their final appearance at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, USA, on March 24th this year, the trio were one of the most successful music acts in the world, and by far the most successful Swedish act. The members - Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello and Axwell, returned for their final project, which also features vocals from the young Swedish singer Lune. The music video was filmed on their home ground in Scandinavia.

"We found a great connection in our joint Scandinavian roots and have built the project around this," said Per Carleo, Marketing Manager at Volvo Cars.
