The ALL4 all-wheel drive system from MINI is now available as an optional feature on each of the four MINI Countryman and MINI Paceman - and as standard on the MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) Countryman and the MINI JCW Paceman from July 2013.
This increases the number of all-wheel versions within the MINI range to ten models. The new models are also fitted with six-speed manual transmission as standard, with six-speed automatic transmission available as an option.
ALL4 is based on an electromagnetic centre differential and distributes drive force at continuously variable levels between the front and rear axle.
Its electronic control system is integrated directly in the DSC control unit (Dynamic Stability Control), enabling it to direct drive torque quickly and precisely to where it can be most effectively transformed into propulsion.
With the All4 - the MINI Cooper Countryman sprints to 100km/h in 11.9 seconds for the manual and 11.7 seconds for the automatic before hitting a top speed of 184km/h and 182km/h respectively.
Despite the performance, the MINI Countryman ALL4 has an average fuel consumption of 14.4km/L for the manual and 13.3km/L for the automatic - with CO2 emissions of 167g/km and 175g/km respectively.
The century sprint is complete in just 11.8 seconds in the manual transmission fitted Paceman ALL4 and 11.6 seconds for the automatic before hitting a top speed of 185km/h for the manual and 183km/h for the auto. Its fuel consumption and CO2 emission
are similar to the Countryman ALL4.
