Watch as monster truck breaks world record by jumping 73 metres
15 Sep 2013|3,069 views
Monster truck jumping is one arena of motorsports which is pretty foreign to us. But like any others, it packs a whole load of oomph - 1,400bhp in this case - good enough to propel the giant to close to 140km/h.
Joe Sylvester broke the truck jumping record in 2010, which was subsequently broken - and now he is back to reclaim his world record title. Fielding a Ram bodied truck, he hit the ramp at 85mph (137km/h) and jumped a total of 237 feet six inches - around 73 metres. The new record supercedes the previous one by nearly 23 feet. And its speed was just one mph (1.6km/h) short of the current land speed record for monster trucks.
