BlackVue DR550GW-HD 2CH - An extra eye on the road

An in-car recorder, dash camera, dashboard camera, digital video recorder (DVR) or more commonly known as in-car camera is a dedicated vehicle camera.
It films every moment of the drive, providing video evidence should anything unexpected occur - car accident, vandalism etc.
Following a series of high profile cases such as the infamous Bugis Ferrari crash as well as the many impolite drivers with bad habits of reckless lane-cutting or 'wannabe' racers in the KPE, many drivers have taken extra precautionary measures such as installing an in-car camera to minimise the 'damage' on their cars if an accident were to occur.
Benefits of in-car cameras
Installing an in-car camera is for convenience. While smartphones/camcorders could be used in place of an in-car camera, there is the frequent need to setup/maintain the camera.
Most in-car cameras also have a looping video function, where the camera automatically records over the oldest file when the memory card fills up.
More importantly, in-car cameras are durable and most models are designed to survive intense heat from our tropical climate.
BlackVue
One of the leading brands in the local market is BlackVue. The brand is manufactured by Pittasoft, one of the biggest manufacturers of in-car camera systems in Korea, known for its superior quality and customer service.
Expertise acquired in IP-based surveillance cameras production helped Pittasoft to become the leading company in the in-car camera market. Since its founding in July 2007, Pittasoft has continuously invested in the development of new products and anchored a firm position in the Korean in-car camera market.
In December 2012, BlackVue introduced WiFi-enabled in-car cameras to keep up with the latest trends and to stay competitive. In addition, BlackVue became the first and only in-car camera to provide full support for Mac, bringing customer satisfaction to a new level.
