Are we facing a 'cars driving against traffic' epidemic in Singapore? By judging the many instances that have been caught on dashboard cameras recently, it's definitely not a one-off instance.
You see, dash cams have become increasingly prevalent in Singapore in recent years, and that's a good thing. By having more eyes on the road, we are more able to spot, and more importantly record bad driving behaviour. This will definitely help make our roads safer, with drivers thinking twice before doing something foolish.
Whether it's for the safety of your own car, or in cases where you witness an accident, having a good dash cam can make all the difference between blurry footage and being able to capture the culprit in action. Blackvue's newest flagship model, the DR750S Series, packs the latest technology and greater ease of use to be your most vigilant eyes on the road.
Maximum power, maximum eyes
The new DR750S Series - comprising the dual-channel DR750S-2CH and single-channel DR750S-1CH - represents a significant jump in performance from its predecessor, the DR650S Series. Although similar in appearance, every function has been improved on. The new Full HD 1080p Sony Starvis sensors have a wider dynamic range and improved low-light sensitivity, allowing the DR750S Series to record clear and detailed videos under a variety of lighting conditions.
Additionally, the dual-channel DRS750S-2Ch uses these Full HD sensors for both the front and rear cameras. Blackvue has also added 'Enhanced Night Vision', which allows you to push the ISO sensitivity even further to maximise brightness in dark environments while preserving highlights and keeping noise down in daylight.
Another notable improvement to the DR750S Series is the option of recording at 60 frames per second (fps) using the front camera. The doubled frame rate ensures that video footage is fluid, and enables you to clearly capture fast-moving objects with much-reduced motion blur. The DR750S-2CH is also the first dedicated dash cam that features simultaneous front 60 fps and rear 30 fps video recording.
The processor has also been upgraded in the DR750S Series, which significantly impacts the dash cams' operating capabilities. From booting and shutting down, to downloading files via Wi-Fi or acquiring a GPS signal, the new DR750S Series is almost twice as fast as its predecessor.
Less hassle, no stress
Beyond, just improving the dash cam's raw power, Blackvue has also focused on improving the reliability and ease of use of the new DR750S Series. Thanks to an active community of users, the company has been able to gather user feedback, and these inputs have helped shaped the design and functionality of the new DR750S Series.
Blackvue has introduced a new Adaptive Format-Free file management system that reduces file errors and negates the need for microSD card formatting. Also, a new Event File Overwrite Protection features prevents the deletion of critical videos generated by impacts or a sudden change of speed. This gives users peace of mind by knowing that such important footage will be retained.
Beyond these new features, there have also been several less obvious but nonetheless still important improvements. The new DR750S Series produces less heat and has reduced power consumption, and thus run for longer periods in 'Parking Mode'.
Also, the heat endurance of the dash cam has been increased, and can operate at 10 degrees Celsius higher than its predecessor. It can now safely run at up to 70 degrees Celsius and has a safety cut off at 80 degrees Celsius. The motion detection sensitivity in 'Parking Mode' has also been overhauled to reduce false positives, such as trees moving in the wind or people passing by far away from the vehicle.
With significant improvements made to the dash cam's performance, usability and reliability, the DR750S Series, which is the new BlackVue flagship model, will ensure that you never miss a thing, whether it's a car driving against traffic or someone backing into your parked vehicle in the middle of the night.
