Here's why the Jaguar E-PACE could be the car to have

The E-PACE is Jaguar's second Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) addition to its lineup and it sits below the bigger F-PACE - similar to how the Jaguar XE sits below the Jaguar XF.
But the baby Jag isn't just another shrunken version of its bigger sibling. Going against the likes of the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and the Volvo XC40, the E-PACE is a fun and sporty compact SUV that impresses with features that will make even the geekiest bloke snigger.
Here are the five features you need to know about the Jaguar cub:
1. Mummy Jaguar leads the way
Not only is the E-PACE sporty, it knows how to inject a sense of humour and fun. For instance, the motif of a jaguar and her cub is incorporated at the bottom of the windshield, which is definitely a conversation starter and a smile inducer.
While it may seem like another lame marketing gimmick from a carmaker, we’re mighty impressed considering Jaguar is the first to do something so simple yet out of the box with its E-PACE.
2. Smart storage solutions
The 577-litre boot can accommodate up to six hand-carry luggage. Knock down the rear seats to form 1,234 litres and you can be rest assured your huge furniture runs at Ikea are going to be easily settled.
If that's not impressive enough, the 8.5-litre-big centre console can be configured to fit two one-litre bottles lying flat or four of them standing - with ample room to spare.
3. Compact SUV going big on connectivity
There's an option for drivers to remain connected even when they're on the road, thanks to the Wi-Fi hotspot that's available on-board the E-PACE. But what's cooler, though, is having five USB outlets and four 12V power sockets, which will easily allow all your passengers to have their own 'personal' charging ports.
Then there's the standard 10-inch touchscreen taking centre stage that behaves just like your smartphone - offering the familiar swipe, pinch and pan functions.
4. Wearing technology wherever you go
Like the F-PACE, the baby Jag comes with a waterproof wearable activity key that allows the key fob to be securely locked inside the vehicle while you get busy with your workout. The wearable technology can be used to lock and unlock the car simply by tapping the Jaguar moniker on the tailgate.
Additionally, you can connect to the E-PACE to your smart watch using an app to check fuel levels, lock or even locate the car.
5. If it ain't safe, it ain’t a Jag
Maybe we're pushing this a little, but credit has to be given to the British carmaker for going ahead and making some high-tech safety features standard with the E-PACE.
These include Forward Traffic Monitor, Park Assist and Adaptive Driving Beam - on top of the usual Blind Spot Assist, Hill Descent Control and your standard traction control.
Oh and have we mentioned that the E-PACE also comes with a pedestrian airbag that cushions the impact of the pedestrian in the event of a collision? Yes, we could still be pushing this a little, but you'll have to agree that the carmaker does deserve credit for its safety features.
