Review
Got this 2 channels car cam after doing some research based on my needs and budget. Select this because of the built-in impact and motion detection features plus the easy file management for black vue. Actually this cam really comes with quite a few fairly good features.
Resolution an recording wise is prompt, good and clear for both day and night vision. Hope this cam will not fail me when I need them in the future.
What I like
Camera angle marker to ensure proper adjustment
What I do not like
Not many places carrying this model
I installed this on
Volkswagen Sharan
Review
The camera looks inconspicuous and has sturdy build quality. However, it is hampered by lack of features, a high price and poor recording quality. The sensor is cheap and this setup could be DIYed for less than $100 with a Raspberry Pi and some $10 sensors. The coaxial cable appears proprietary and could be tough to replace. But the worst part is their proprietary software which is required to watch recordings and format SD cards. The camera shipped with a cheap and slow 16GB card that makes viewing recordings a pain. The software is pixelated, crashes every few minutes and unintuitive. It is the only way to do anything since the card is write protected with videos hidden in Windows Explorer. To compound my misery, the videos don't even play! I'm left with a black view in the Blackvue app. This product is a pain to use and a complete rip-off. Not recommended
