Volkswagen Golf

Review
Got this tire after my pirellie's wore out, used it for a almost 12000km and ran smooth and good. Always liked the asymmetrical tire design which works well on roads (in my personal opinion)

the cost of tire was a little expensive

the bad luck with it was that i kena 3 punctures on the tire and had to change out the front two and later the rear left....sigh...Tuas area driving and my office area had a lot of nails and worst screws lying all over the road....

changed them out after had a 4th flat due to the repair portion wearing out

What I like
Its quite quiet and handled rather well

What I do not like
price is ex during that time in 2009
it was my second set of tires....

Wears out a little too fast but overall value for money. A little bit of everything you need in a tyre. Overall good experience hence willing to continue with the same brand but upgraded to CSC5 this time round. Look out for promotions, usually 225/45/17, which makes it value for money.

What I like
Price - got it at promo rate

What I do not like
Wear rate - wears out too fast

These Continental ContiSportContact3 is an excellent tyre. I drive fast(safely too) on the highways and have always felt confident doing so with this tyre. Only once taking a big round about at approx 70kph(i was being crazy at Malaysia) did the tyres let me know they were about to give way, so i loosen off the throttle and problem solved. When the tread got worn off, tramlining became noticeable and it wasn't so easy to put down my 180 bhp to the front wheels, but that's to be expected with little tread left! These tyres wear at a pretty good rate despite the torque I'm kicking from my car.

What I like
Provides confidence for me; grip, traction, and minimal rolling.

What I do not like
These tyres are slightly pricey.

I liked these tyres for their grip and performance in both wet and dry conditions and the aquaplaning resistance was also quite high. The ride was quiet and comfortable too. Unfortunately, the tyre wears down too damn fast, and when it happened, the tyres were so noisy that I could barely even hear the music from the speakers. Only buy if you don't mind replacing them every 10k km or so.

What I like
Excellent wet and dry grip and performance.
Good aquaplaning resistance

What I do not like
Tyre treadlife is too short.
Tyre becomes unbearably noisy when worn

Tried many brands, I believe this is one of the better all-rounders for its price. At 17', Michelin PS3 is at the same price, I would go for the Michelin if I were to choose again.

What I like
Fairly good performance in the wet

What I do not like
Tends to trap stones in the threads
Poor threadwear
Noisy
Wheelspins even in the dry during spirited driving

Let's face it, It's not economically the best priced, because it wasn't made cheaply.
So if budget is constrained then this tire is probably not the best option to consider. On the other hand if you are keen on bit of quality, CSC3 won't go wrong. I am using R18 and it grips pretty well on wet and corners. Side wall held form pretty good and i noticed i need not top up N2 as often as other tires, which is fantastic for a busy person like me.

Wear rate is reasonable as well, well naturally depends on how you drive and Ii am quite conservative with occasional spirited sprint.

What I like
Grips well, quite consistently. Reasonable wear rate. Side wall held up well too, makes my car look better.

What I do not like
Price, naturally.

This tire is the OEM choice among many manufacturers. I have had 4 cars so far and all of them came stock with CSC3 - from Peugeot to Volvo. CSC3 has great dry and wet grip but can do with lower noise levels. Also it is a bumpy tire. Expensive to replace too.

What I like
Great dry and wet handling
Good resistance to aquaplaning

What I do not like
Expensive to replace
Noisy after 10,000km
Bumpy
Long in the tooth, CSC5 available already but at an even more insane price.
