All-wheel drive Countryman establishes its name at 2014 'Off Road Award'

In a reader's vote conducted by Off Road magazine, the MINI Countryman ALL4 claimed a spot on the rostrum in the 'Subcompact SUV' segment in second place.

The Countryman, coupled with the optional ALL4 all-wheel drive system, offers new ways to experience the brand's hallmark fun driving experience without sacrificing practicality.

The 'Off Road Award' has been held every year since 1982. And like last year, readers of the foreign print have voted the iconic five-door hatchback into second position in the awards.

The compact all-rounder will also enter a new phase in July this year with the launch of a new MINI Countryman. The new car will sport refinements in both exterior and interior designs, and features more efficient powertrain options for better fuel economy and lesser CO₂ emissions.

The new model range will comprise of three petrol and three diesel variants, as well as a range-topping MINI John Cooper Works Countryman with 218bhp and the ALL4 system fitted as standard. The all-wheel drive system will also be available as an option on the MINI Cooper S Countryman, the MINI Cooper Countryman, the MINI Cooper SD Countryman and the MINI Cooper D Countryman.
