Brabus tunes the Mercedes-Benz GL63

The new car, called the Brabus GL63 Biturbo, was unveiled at the Dubai Motor Show last month, and receives the eight-cylinder engine from the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG SUV, which produces 650bhp and 850Nm of torque.

The new GL63 Biturbo is able to sprint from 0-100km/h in 4.7 seconds, and reach a top speed of 300km/h. The engine is mated to Mercedes-Benz’s Speedshift 7G-Tronic automatic transmission and permanent four-wheel drive.

Modifications made to the vehicle include a customized and more responsive twin turbo system, large water-to-air intercooler, with other upgrades to the intake and exhaust, brakes, suspension, and tyres. There are also new forged 23-inch wheels, with 21 and 22-inch sizes also available.

Cosmetically, Brabus has given the GL 63 a Widestar package, with 3cm wide fender flares, rocker panels, a new front apron, larger air inlets, LED daytime running lights, underfloor lighting, and four extra headlamps. There is also a new roof spoiler, rear apron, and rear diffuser as well as a quad-pipe exhaust.

Inside, Brabus has equipped the GL63 with Mastik leather, Alcantara, and a choice of wood or carbon-fibre trim for the interior. There are also LCD screens installed into the seats for rear passengers, with a DVD player, while a wide choice of colour options are available.
