General Motors has announced that it has started retail production of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq at its assembly plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee, U.S.A.
The Cadillac Lyriq is the brand's first all-electric vehicle. The electric luxury SUV is built on GM's Ultium platform, the heart of the company's electric vehicle strategy. This Ultium Platform encompasses a common electric vehicle architecture and propulsion components like battery cells, modules, packs, Ultium Drive units, electric motors and integrated power electronics.
GM had previously announced it was targeting an output of 335bhp and 440Nm of torque for the Cadillac Lyriq, alongside a range of close to 480km.
GM plans to realise a strategic value chain shift across its network of vehicle assembly plants as the company commonises and streamlines machinery, tooling and assembly processes around the Ultium platform.
