After a great start to the 2018/2019 ABB FIA Formula E season where the newly formed DS Techeetah team left the first round with both drivers in the Top 5 and leading the Team's Championship, the team has had a good rest over the holidays and is now fully charged and ready to hit the streets of Marrakesh, Morocco, on 12 January 2019.
Formula E returns to the majestic streets of Marrakesh and the Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan for the third consecutive year, just a few minutes away from the world-famous medina and souks. The 3km circuit follows the form of the track, named after the Crown Prince of Morocco, before it ventures out onto the streets of Marrakesh's modern hotel district. From the track, the audience will see the DS E-Tense FE19 swoosh by with a mixed backdrop of the Atlas Mountains, the centuries-old Marrakesh wall and the pitlane.
Mark Preston, Team Principal, "We had a really good first race together as a new team, DS Techeetah, and it was a proud moment to watch everything come together during the race weekend. We definitely had our challenges, and I think we pretty much had every curve ball there was thrown at us, but the team handled them very well and came out on top. I must give some extra kudos to our new Team Manager, David Clarke, who had two practice session cancelled, qualifying rearranged on top of all the new rules and regulations of this season, during his first race but still managed to lead the team practically and professionally."
