Renault has delivered the first batch of electric Spark-Renault SRT_01E racing cars to the FIA Formula E Championships ten registered teams at their new premises in Donington. The handover comes after an initial series of development tests which checked the car's architecture and systems at a number of circuits in January were completed.
Former Formula One driver, Alain Prost, co-director of the French team E-Dams, and also an ambassador for Renault, was present at Donington for this landmark delivery.
In addition, Renault took advantage of the opportunity to present the keys of a Renault ZOE to Alejandro Agag, Chairman and General Manager of Formula E Holdings. His use of the vehicle as a personal car would allow him to reap the benefits of emissions-free motoring and consequently join the 98 percent of Renault Z.E. owners who are satisfied with their car.
