Mazda sales on a strong upswing worldwide
The Eurokars Group announced that it has secured the dealership for Mazda in South Jakarta.
The dealership agreement was signed on 22 June 2007 between PT Eurokars Chrisdeco Utama and PT Mazda Motor Indonesia.
"We are really excited to break into the Indonesian automotive market with a distinctive brand like Mazda," says Mr Karsono Kwee, the Executive Chairman of Eurokars Group and President Commissioner of PT Eurokars Chrisdeco Utama. "The
Mazda brand is already making resurgence worldwide; it's only a matter a time before the Mazda brand takes off in Indonesia. Mazda puts strong emphasis on product portfolio, customer service and brand strategy, which will contribute to the success of the brand."
Mazda has been tremendous growth of its brand worldwide. In the US sales of Mazda jumped 48 per cent this year compared with a year ago, its biggest gain in 26 years. This increase was led by a 93 per cent surge in Mazda3 car sales and high demand of the new CX-7 sports utility vehicle.
"With the popularity of the mainstream Mazda3, Mazda5, Mazda6, Tribute and Pick up Truck, RX-8 in the sports segment, and the CX-7 which we will launch later this year, we are very confident of growing this brand in Indonesia."
A Mazda showroom and dedicated workshop will be set up at the company's Jakarta showroom complex at Pondok Indah.
President Director of PT Mazda Motor Indonesia, Mr Yoshinori Nishihara who signed the dealership agreement, described the partnership as a perfect match. "Mazda is excited to have Eurokars as our dealer in South Jakarta. Eurokars is best known for its success with top continental brands and has shown an impressive track record of building brands such as Porsche, Saab, and Rolls Royce in the market. Their knowledge and experience of our target market, combined with Mazda Motor Indonesia's vision and strategy for the Indonesian automotive market makes for a robust partnership."
The Mazda brand has been well received since its introduction into the Indonesian automotive market just last year. "Mazda cars have more character and brand identity than other Japanese marquees. You could say the Mazda brand is more distinct in that respect. The Mazda brand is starting to take off this year - we have plenty more in store for our consumers" Nishihara adds.
